Quintessa Swindell

Quintessa Swindell is an American actor born on February 8, 1997. They are best known for starring as Tabitha Foster in the Netflix teen drama series Trinkets and portraying Maxine Hunkel, also known as Cyclone, in the 2022 superhero film Black Adam.

Swindell grew up in Virginia Beach, Virginia, where they were raised by a single father. During their youth, they experienced difficulties fitting in due to issues surrounding gender and race. They attended high school at the Governor's School for the Arts located in Norfolk, Virginia.

In 2019, Swindell made their acting debut with an appearance as Anna in an episode of the HBO television series Euphoria titled "The Trials and Tribulations of Trying To Pee While Depressed." That same year, they landed a main role in the Netflix teen drama series Trinkets, playing the character Tabitha Foster.

Swindell expanded their film and television career with several notable roles over the following years. In 2021, they appeared as Laila in the fourth season of the HBO series In Treatment. Their work in feature films includes appearing in Voyagers alongside Colin Farrell and Tye Sheridan, as well as starring in Master Gardener alongside Joel Edgerton and Sigourney Weaver.

In December 2020, Swindell was cast as Cyclone in the DC Extended Universe film Black Adam, which starred Dwayne Johnson in the title role and was released in 2022.

Swindell is nonbinary and uses they/he pronouns. Being biracial, they resonated with the exploration of Black identity in Trinkets and expressed appreciation for playing the character of Tabitha Foster.
