Megan Gale

Megan Kate Gale is an Australian model and actress born on 7 August 1975 in Parmelia, Western Australia. She is known for her extensive modeling career, major advertising campaigns, television roles, and appearances in international feature films.

Born in Parmelia, Gale was raised as the youngest of three children with two older brothers. Her father is English and her mother is of part Māori descent. She entered the modeling industry at the age of 18 after winning a contest in her home town of Perth.

Gale achieved widespread international recognition in 1999 when she was cast in commercials for Italian telecommunications brand Omnitel, later Vodafone Italy, appearing in their advertising until 2006. In 2003, she was selected by the Australian Tourist Commission as the face of Australia in Italy, and in May 2026, she appeared in a campaign for Iliad Italia. Throughout her career, she graced the covers and pages of publications such as Marie Claire, Grazia, Gioia, GQ, Maxim, InStyle, Cosmopolitan, and Vogue Italia. She modeled for top Italian fashion houses including Gianfranco Ferré and Mariella Burani, alongside Australian designers like Colette Dinnigan and Alex Perry.

In August 2011, Gale reached her tenth anniversary with Australian department store David Jones, representing the longest-held fashion contract in Australia. Though she announced her retirement from runway modeling in early 2008, she returned in March 2011 to close Alex Perry's show at the Melbourne Fashion Festival. In 2010, she launched her swimwear line, Isola, and in August 2011, she became a brand ambassador for L'Oréal Paris.

Gale's acting career includes early roles in Italian films like Vacanze di Natale 2000, Body Guards, and Stregati dalla luna, as well as a cameo in the 2005 film Stealth. After being cast as Wonder Woman in the cancelled Justice League of America project, she starred in the 2009 Australian comedy I Love You Too as Francesca Moretti. She later played Fatma in The Water Diviner (2014) and Valkyrie in Mad Max: Fury Road (2015).

On television, Gale presented the Sanremo Music Festival in 2001, reported for Getaway, co-hosted What a Year, and served as host, judge, and executive producer for Project Runway Australia in 2011. She also became a permanent judge on Australia's Next Top Model in 2016. In addition to her entertainment work, she served as a national ambassador for Kids Help Line starting in 2005 and became the first official National Ambassador for the Red Cross in 2009.

Gale dated comedian Andy Lee between 2006 and 2010. She began a relationship with footballer Shaun Hampson in January 2011; the couple announced their engagement in July 2017 and have two children.
