Jung Kyung-ho

Jung Kyung-ho is a South Korean actor who first earned television recognition through his performances in series such as Missing Nine, Prison Playbook, and Life on Mars. His profile expanded significantly after starring as a main cast member in both seasons of the medical drama Hospital Playlist. He has since continued to lead television projects, including Crash Course in Romance and Oh My Ghost Clients.

Born in Gwangmyeong, Jung is the son of veteran television director Jung Eul-young. His father initially opposed his ambition to pursue acting, prompting Jung to move out of his family home and cease contact with his father for three years before they eventually reconciled. Jung later attended the theater department at Chung-Ang University, where he shared a room with upperclassman Ha Jung-woo during his freshman year. Watching Ha act on stage inspired Jung to follow the same career path, and Ha encouraged him to try out for the KBS actors' audition in 2003.

Jung passed the audition and signed with the agency SidusHQ, debuting in the mobile project 5 Stars before landing small television roles. He achieved his major breakthrough in the hit 2004 drama I'm Sorry, I Love You. This success led to roles in the 2005 films All for Love and When Romance Meets Destiny. He subsequently took on his first leading film role in Gangster High, co-starred in the action series Time Between Dog and Wolf, and earned a Best New Actor award at the Chunsa Film Art Awards for his performance in Herb. He also starred in the film For Eternal Hearts.

Jung expanded his filmography with roles in the movie Sunny, the thriller Running Turtle, and the historical drama Ja Myung Go. He followed these projects with a leading role in the family drama Smile, You and an appearance in the single-episode drama The Great Gye Choon-bin. In late 2010, Jung enlisted for his mandatory military service, serving as an active-duty soldier and later in a military band before being discharged in 2012 with a commendation from the Army Chief of Staff.

Following his military discharge, Jung starred in the cable noir drama Heartless City and the comedy film Rollercoaster, which was directed by Ha Jung-woo. He then appeared in television series including Endless Love, Beating Again, and One More Happy Ending, alongside film work in Manhole. His recognition grew further as an elite prison guard in the hit series Prison Playbook and as a detective in the remake of Life on Mars. He subsequently starred in When the Devil Calls Your Name and made a special appearance in Crash Landing on You.

In 2020 and 2021, Jung played a cardiothoracic surgery professor across two seasons of Hospital Playlist, later appearing in a related variety program. He made his stage debut in 2021 as Prior Walter in Angels in America, receiving a nomination for Best Actor in Theater at the 2022 Baeksang Arts Awards. After returning to film in 2022 with The Great Dancer and Men of Plastic, he achieved high topicality rankings starring in the 2023 romantic comedy Crash Course in Romance. Outside of acting, Jung co-launched the men's fashion website Double Bill in 2008 and was in a relationship with singer and actress Choi Soo-young from 2012 to 2026.
