Zlatko Buric

Zlatko Burić is a Croatian and Danish actor who gained wide recognition for his appearances in popular Danish cinema and international feature films. He is particularly renowned for playing the character Milo across the Pusher crime movie trilogy, as well as for his performances in films such as Bleeder, the disaster feature 2012, and the satire Triangle of Sadness. His career spans independent theater, European cinema, and major global productions, including roles in Superman, The Bride!, and the television series Wonder Man.

Burić was born in Osijek, a city in present-day Croatia that was then part of Yugoslavia. His training in acting began during his youth when he attended the Dramski Studio in 1972. In 1981, he relocated to Denmark, where he later established his home and family life. He was previously married to Sonja Hindkjær, with whom he has three children, and he later married actress Dragana Milutinović in October 1998.

During the 1970s and early 1980s, Burić was active in experimental theater, performing as part of the vanguard collective Kugla Glumište alongside fellow members Željko Zorica-Šiš and Damir Bartol-Indoš. After moving to Denmark, he transitioned into screen acting and established a long-standing creative collaboration with filmmaker Nicolas Winding Refn, appearing in a series of prominent Danish motion pictures throughout the 1990s and 2000s.

Burić achieved a major career breakthrough playing the drug lord Milo in Refn's 1996 debut film Pusher, a performance that earned him a Bodil Award for Best Supporting Actor in 1997. He returned to this signature role in two Danish sequels released through 2005, and he eventually recreated the character for an English-language British remake of Pusher in 2012. He also collaborated with Refn on the 1999 drama Bleeder.

His international profile expanded significantly in 2009 when he landed a major supporting part in the disaster blockbuster 2012, playing Russian billionaire Yuri Karpov. He continued to take on varied roles in high-profile global projects, including portraying the character Von Kovak in the television project Wonder Man, as well as appearing in the features Superman and The Bride!.

In 2022, Burić achieved critical praise for his role in the acclaimed satirical film Triangle of Sadness. His work in the production garnered major industry recognitions, including a European Film Award and a Guldbagge Award.
