Charlotte Ross

Charlotte Ross is an American actress best known for her television roles, including Eve Donovan on the NBC soap opera Days of Our Lives and Detective Connie McDowell on the ABC police procedural drama NYPD Blue. Over the course of her career, she has performed in numerous television series, feature films, and made-for-television movies.

Born on January 21, 1968, Ross was raised in the Chicago suburb of Winnetka, Illinois. Her mother is Debbie Ross Kullby, and her father was Peter Ross, a financial advisor who passed away in 2009. After graduating from New Trier High School, Ross moved to Los Angeles to pursue acting, a decision that her father initially opposed.

Ross achieved early recognition on daytime television when she played Eve Donovan on Days of Our Lives from 1987 to 1991, earning two Emmy Award nominations. Decades later, in 2014, she was invited to return to the series as Eve Donovan; however, she declined due to commitments with other acting projects, and the role was recast with Kassie DePaiva.

Throughout her career, Ross appeared in numerous television productions. She starred in the musical drama series The Heights, earning a Gold record in 1992 for her vocal work on the soundtrack album, which featured the Billboard number-one single "How Do You Talk to an Angel." Her other television credits include roles in Drexell's Class, The 5 Mrs. Buchanans, Pauly, Law & Order, Trinity, Beggars and Choosers, Frasier, Savage Land, and Jake in Progress. She also performed in television films such as Fall Into Darkness and A Kiss So Deadly, the latter reuniting her with Days of Our Lives co-star Charles Shaughnessy.

From 2001 to 2004, Ross portrayed Detective Connie McDowell on NYPD Blue, appearing in a notable February 2003 episode titled "Nude Awakening." She co-starred in the 2007 Lifetime original movies Montana Sky and Christmas in Paradise. Outside of narrative acting, she co-hosted a series of Tae-Bo infomercials with Billy Blanks in 2006.

Ross later secured roles in feature films and prime-time series. She played Candy in the 2011 3D film Drive Angry alongside Nicolas Cage and Amber Heard. On television, she recurred as Judy Fabray, the mother of Dianna Agron's character Quinn Fabray, across four episodes of Glee between 2009 and 2012. In 2013, she joined the VH1 sports drama Hit the Floor. The following year, she made a guest appearance on Nashville and was cast as Felicity Smoak's mother in The CW superhero series Arrow.

In her personal life, Ross married Michael Goldman in 2003, and they have one son; the couple separated in 2008. She currently resides in Los Angeles. Ross has also engaged in animal advocacy, participating in a 2002 PETA anti-fur advertisement campaign titled "I'd Rather Show My Buns Than Wear Fur" and filming a video in 2014 for the Animal Legal Defense Fund's National Justice for Animals Week.
