Wan Qian

Wan Qian, also known by the name Regina Wan, is a Chinese actress and vocalist born on May 14, 1982. She is widely recognized for her award-winning performances across feature films and theater productions.

Born in the Heshan District of Yiyang, Hunan, Wan developed an early passion for singing due to the strong influence of her father. Throughout her childhood, he regularly brought her along to engage in vocal exercises, helping to foster her interest in music.

Wan later pursued formal performing arts training after unexpectedly enrolling in the undergraduate acting program at the Shanghai Theatre Academy. While attending the academy, she served as the lead performer representing the institution at various international theater festivals hosted in Romania, Hong Kong, and the United States. Following her graduation, she relocated to Beijing after signing with a record company.

Over the course of her career, Wan has achieved significant industry acclaim for her film roles. In 2014, she earned the Golden Horse Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in the Taiwanese motion picture Paradise in Service. She subsequently received the Best Actress award at the Beijing College Student Film Festival for her work in the 2016 film The Insanity.

Her critical success has continued into her recent career, highlighted by winning the Golden Goblet Award for Best Actress at the 27th Shanghai International Film Festival in 2025 for her portrayal in the film Wild Nights, Tamed Beasts.

In her personal life, Wan gave birth to a daughter in Shanghai on November 9, 2017, and publicly shared the news through a brief video posted to her social media account on Weibo the following day.
