Keerthy Suresh

Keerthy Suresh is an Indian actress who predominantly appears in Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam films. She is known for her work across South Indian cinema and has earned numerous accolades, including a National Film Award, five SIIMA Awards, a Tamil Nadu State Film Award, and two Filmfare Awards South. In addition to her film recognitions, she was named to Forbes India's 30 Under 30 list in 2021.

Suresh was born on 17 October 1992 in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, to film producer G. Suresh Kumar and actress Menaka. She spent her early schooling years in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, before attending Kendriya Vidyalaya in Pattom, Kerala. She later returned to Chennai to complete a degree in fashion design at Pearl Academy. Alongside her acting career and interest in design, she plays the violin.

She began her entertainment career as a child actress in the early 2000s, appearing in television serials and feature films produced by her father, including Pilots, Achaneyanenikkishtam, and Kuberan. In 2004, she co-produced the Malayalam comedy film Vettam with her mother and elder sister, Revathy. Suresh made her debut in a lead role in the 2013 Malayalam horror film Geethaanjali, which won her the SIIMA Award for Best Female Debut – Malayalam. She followed this with the commercial hit Ring Master in 2014.

In 2015, Suresh made her Tamil cinema debut in Idhu Enna Maayam, winning the SIIMA Award for Best Female Debut – Tamil. Her career expanded rapidly with roles in successful films across Tamil and Telugu, including Nenu Sailaja, Rajinimurugan, Remo, Bairavaa, Paambhu Sattai, Nenu Local, and Thaanaa Serndha Koottam. During this period, she established herself as a prominent lead actress in multiple regional film industries.

Suresh achieved wide critical acclaim in 2018 for her portrayal of the late actress Savitri in the biographical drama Mahanati. Her performance won her both the Filmfare Award and the National Film Award for Best Actress. Following Mahanati, she took on roles in commercial releases such as Saamy Square, Sandakozhi 2, and Sarkar, as well as direct-to-streaming projects including Penguin, Miss India, and Saani Kaayidham. Her subsequent major films included Rang De, Sarkaru Vaari Paata, and Vaashi.

In 2023, Suresh starred in the action film Dasara, earning her second Filmfare Award for Best Actress, and appeared in Maamannan and Bhola Shankar. Her 2024 projects included the Tamil action thriller Siren, providing the voice role for the AI droid Bujji in Kalki 2898 AD and its animated series, and leading the political comedy Raghu Thatha. She subsequently made her Hindi film debut in Baby John and was cast in the solo projects Revolver Rita and Kanni Vedi.

Outside of acting, media reports recognize Suresh as one of the highest-paid South Indian actresses, and she works as a brand endorser for companies including Jos Alukkas. On 12 December 2024, she married her long-time partner, engineer and businessman Antony Thattil, in Goa.
