Jungkook

Jeon Jung-kook, known professionally as Jung Kook, is a South Korean singer and songwriter who rose to prominence as a member of the boy band BTS. Alongside his contributions to the group, he has established a high-profile solo career with record-breaking chart entries and performances worldwide. His vocal work is widely recognized for its soulful tenor quality and versatility across pop and R&B music.

Born on September 1, 1997, in Busan, South Korea, Jeon lived with his parents and elder brother. After auditioning for the talent show Superstar K in 2011, he received offers from several agencies and chose Big Hit Entertainment after meeting future bandmate RM. To prepare for his debut, he received dance training in Los Angeles during the summer of 2012. He graduated from the School of Performing Arts Seoul in 2017 and later earned a degree from Global Cyber University's Department of Broadcasting and Entertainment, receiving the school's President's Award.

Jeon debuted with BTS on June 12, 2013, with the release of 2 Cool 4 Skool. Within the band's discography, he performed three notable solo tracks: "Begin" in 2016, "Euphoria" in 2018, and "My Time" in 2020. He also served as main producer on the BTS tracks "Love is Not Over" and "Magic Shop". In recognition of his cultural impact, Jeon and his bandmates received the fifth-class Hwagwan Order of Cultural Merit in 2018 and were appointed Special Presidential Envoys by South Korean President Moon Jae-in in 2021.

In addition to group activities, Jeon pursued solo projects, releasing self-produced singles such as "Still With You" and "My You". In 2022, he recorded the soundtrack "Stay Alive" for the webtoon 7Fates: Chakho and featured on Charlie Puth's single "Left and Right". Later that year, he recorded "Dreamers" for the 2022 FIFA World Cup soundtrack and performed the song at the tournament's opening ceremony in Qatar, becoming the first South Korean artist to release an official FIFA World Cup theme.

Jeon released his official debut solo single "Seven", featuring Latto, in July 2023. The track debuted at number one on the Billboard Hot 100, Global 200, and Global Excl. U.S. charts, and became the fastest song to reach one billion Spotify streams. Subsequent solo releases included "3D" featuring Jack Harlow, "Too Much" with the Kid Laroi and Central Cee, and his debut solo album Golden in November 2023. Golden broke sales records for South Korean solo artists and reached number two on the Billboard 200.

His subsequent projects include the 2024 single "Never Let Go", the travel series Are You Sure?! with Jimin, and the documentary film I Am Still. In 2024, Jeon became a full member of the Korea Music Copyright Association. He has served as a global brand ambassador for Calvin Klein, Chanel Fragrance & Beauty, Hublot, and Graff. His philanthropic efforts include ₩1 billion donations to Seoul National University Children's Hospital in 2023 and to wildfire relief initiatives in 2025.
