Jack Harlow

Jackman Thomas Harlow is an American rapper, singer, and actor. He began his recording career in 2015 and achieved mainstream success with his 2020 single "Whats Poppin," which peaked at number two on the US Billboard Hot 100 and received a diamond certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). Harlow has released three studio albums—Thats What They All Say, Come Home the Kids Miss You, and Jackman—all of which attained significant commercial chart success.

Harlow was born on March 13, 1998, in Louisville, Kentucky, to Maggie, a businesswoman, and Brian Harlow. Raised on a horse farm near Shelbyville alongside a younger brother, he is of French and Irish descent. After moving back to Louisville as a child, he began rapping at age 12, recording early material with a friend using a laptop microphone and selling CDs at Highland Middle School. He later adopted the moniker Mr. Harlow, released his first mixtape, Extra Credit, formed the Moose Gang collective, and played varsity soccer while attending Atherton High School.

In November 2015, Harlow released his debut commercial EP, The Handsome Harlow, through the sonaBLAST! record label. Following his high school graduation in 2016, he released the mixtape 18, launching his music collective and label, Private Garden. He performed at music festivals including South by Southwest, Bonnaroo, and the Forecastle Festival. After releasing the mixtape Gazebo in 2017 and embarking on a supporting tour, Harlow relocated to Atlanta and signed with Don Cannon and DJ Drama's Generation Now record label, an imprint of Atlantic Records, in August 2018.

Following his major label debut mixtape Loose in 2018 and Confetti in 2019, Harlow released "Whats Poppin" in early 2020 as the lead single for his EP Sweet Action. Boosted by popularity on TikTok and a remix featuring DaBaby, Tory Lanez, and Lil Wayne, the song received a Grammy Award nomination for Best Rap Performance. That same year, Harlow was named to XXL magazine's 2020 Freshman Class and released his double-platinum debut studio album, Thats What They All Say. In 2021, he scored a Billboard Hot 100 number-one single as a featured artist on Lil Nas X's "Industry Baby."

Harlow's second studio album, Come Home the Kids Miss You (2022), debuted in the top five of the Billboard 200 and contained his second Hot 100 chart-topper, "First Class." His third album, Jackman, followed in 2023 and reached the Billboard 200 top ten. Later that year, he scored another number-one single with "Lovin on Me" and appeared on Jungkook's single "3D." Beyond music, Harlow made his acting debut starring as Jeremy in the 2023 film remake White Men Can't Jump and joined the cast of the film The Instigators.

Harlow has earned several honors, including Top New Artist at the 2021 Billboard Music Awards, Variety's Hitmaker of the Year, inclusion in Forbes 30 Under 30, and being named a Kentucky Colonel. Active in philanthropy, he supports Black Lives Matter, has donated to Louisville-based organizations and tornado relief efforts, and established the Jack Harlow Foundation in 2023 to support his hometown. In 2024, he launched the Gazebo Festival in Louisville.
