Haylie Duff

Haylie Katherine Duff, born February 19, 1985, is an American actress and singer. She is best known for her television roles as Sandy Jameson in 7th Heaven and Amy Sanders in Lizzie McGuire, as well as her performance as Summer Wheatly in the feature film Napoleon Dynamite. Duff is also a food blogger, author, television host, and entrepreneur. She is the older sister of actress and singer Hilary Duff.

Duff was born in Houston, Texas. Her mother, Susan Colleen Duff, worked as a film producer and manager, while her father, Robert Erhard Duff, worked as a partner and owner in his family's convenience store business. Raised in Texas, Duff began early dance training in ballet and landed a role in the Houston Metropolitan Dance Company's production of The Nutcracker Suite at age eight, which helped launch her acting career.

Duff's early screen career featured guest appearances in television movies such as True Women and series like The Amanda Show, Chicago Hope, Boston Public, and Third Watch. In late 2002, she began playing Amy Sanders on Lizzie McGuire, later guest-starring on That's So Raven as Katina Jones. Her feature film debut came in 2004 as Summer Wheatly in Napoleon Dynamite, winning her a Teen Choice Award. She subsequently appeared in Joan of Arcadia and American Dreams, and voiced a role in the animated film In Search of Santa.

In 2005, Duff joined the cast of 7th Heaven as Sandy Jameson. The following year, she performed on Broadway as Amber Von Tussle in Hairspray from June to October 2006. She co-starred in and co-produced the film Material Girls alongside her sister and mother. Duff went on to star in numerous television and direct-to-DVD films, including Nightmare, My Sexiest Year, Legacy, Backwoods, Love Takes Wing, Love Finds a Home, My Nanny's Secret, Fear Island, Tug, and Slightly Single in L.A. She also voiced a character in Foodfight!, hosted and executive produced the reality competition Legally Blonde: The Musical – The Search for Elle Woods, and appeared in the 2015 film Badge of Honor.

In music, Duff recorded songs for soundtracks including The Lizzie McGuire Movie, A Cinderella Story, and Material Girls, frequently contributing to Disneymania albums. She sang solo tracks for Stuck in the Suburbs and Raising Helen, featured on Kool G Rap's track "On the Rise Again," and performed a duet on Family Guy: Live in Las Vegas. Additionally, she co-wrote songs for Hilary Duff's studio albums Metamorphosis and Hilary Duff, and contributed whistling to the song "Sparks." Duff signed with Hollywood Records, but her planned solo single "Screwed" and her proposed 2008 album Walk the Walk were never released before she parted with the label.

Duff launched her food blog Real Girl's Kitchen in 2012, which inspired her 2013 book of the same title and her 2014 Cooking Channel show. In 2017, she established a children's fashion line called Little Moon Society. In her personal life, Duff has shared her spiritual beliefs rooted in Christianity. She was engaged to Matt Rosenberg, with whom she shares two daughters, until ending the engagement in April 2026.
