Fola Evans-Akingbola

Fola Evans-Akingbola is a British actress who has appeared across television, film, and digital media. She is widely recognized for starring as Maddie Bishop in the Freeform drama series Siren, as well as portraying United States Secret Service Special Agent Chelsea Arrington in the 2023 Netflix action thriller series The Night Agent.

Born in London, Evans-Akingbola grew up in Bermondsey. She is the daughter of Gillian Evans, an English anthropologist, and Sola Akingbola, a Nigerian musician known for his work with the band Jamiroquai. She attended Alleyn's School in Dulwich, completing her sixth-form studies in 2012. Her path into performance arts included formal training with the National Youth Theatre and further studies at the Identity School of Acting.

Prior to establishing her professional acting career, Evans-Akingbola worked as a model. Her television debut arrived in 2014 when she appeared in the BBC medical drama Holby City. Shortly thereafter, while working on the BBC series Death in Paradise, she secured a role in the HBO fantasy series Game of Thrones, playing the second wife of Khal Moro in its sixth season in 2016.

Evans-Akingbola gained widespread prominence starting in 2017 when she was cast as a main character in Siren, playing marine biologist Madelyn Bishop through 2020. Her screen credits continued to expand with a appearance in the 2019 Black Mirror episode "Striking Vipers" as Mariella, opposite Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, followed by a role in the 2022 series Ten Percent. In 2023, she took on a major television role as Secret Service Agent Chelsea Arrington in Netflix's The Night Agent.

Beyond her live-action television roles, Evans-Akingbola has worked behind the camera as a filmmaker, serving as director, co-writer, and producer for the short film Grandma's 80th Surprise. Additionally, she has lent her voice to video games within the Assassin's Creed franchise.

In her personal life, Evans-Akingbola became engaged in 2022 to Canadian actor Curtis Lum. The couple previously co-starred in Siren from 2018 to 2020 and both appeared in the 2023 season of The Night Agent.
