Wang Yibo

Wang Yibo is a Chinese actor, dancer, vocalist, and professional racing driver born on August 5, 1997, in Luoyang, Henan, China. Developing an early passion for dance, he reached the top sixteen in the hip-hop category at the 2011 IBD national dance competition while in secondary school. Following his performance, he became a trainee under YH Entertainment, undergoing training in South Korea and studying at Hanlim Multi Art School.

Wang made his official entertainment debut in 2014 as the main dancer and rapper for the South Korean-Chinese boy band Uniq, which debuted with the single Falling in Love. He subsequently expanded into acting, appearing in feature films such as MBA Partners and A Chinese Odyssey Part Three, alongside a main supporting role in the television series Love Actually. From 2016 through 2021, Wang regularly served as a co-host on the variety program Day Day Up. During this early phase, he received the Best New Idol Award at the Top Chinese Music Awards in 2017.

His career experienced a major breakthrough in 2018 after he served as a dance mentor on the survival reality series Produce 101. The following year, Wang earned widespread international and domestic recognition for his starring role as Lan Wangji in the xianxia fantasy drama The Untamed. In 2019, he also starred in the esports television series Gank Your Heart, a role that won him the Audience's Choice for Actor at the 30th China TV Golden Eagle Award. His television work further expanded with prominent roles in series including Legend of Fei, Luoyang, Being a Hero, and War of Faith.

Alongside his acting, Wang established a solo music career, launching his first digital single, Fire, in 2019. He achieved substantial commercial success with singles like No Sense, My Rules, and Standup, setting rapid sales records on Chinese digital platforms and charting internationally on the Billboard World Digital Song Sales chart. His dance background led to recurring appearances as a team captain on Street Dance of China, where his team secured victories in multiple seasons. Additionally, he has made several musical appearances on high-profile televised events, including the CCTV Spring Festival Gala.

In 2023, Wang transitioned into leading feature film roles, debuting on the big screen in the spy thriller Hidden Blade, the military aviation drama Born to Fly, and the break-dancing comedy-drama One and Only. His film performances earned major critical accolades, including Golden Rooster Award nominations for Best Supporting Actor and Best Actor, as well as an Outstanding Actor nomination at the Huabiao Awards. His subsequent projects include the action film Formed Police Unit, the documentary series Exploring the Unknown with Wang Yibo, and public sports ambassadorships, including participating as an Olympic torchbearer for the Paris 2024 Games.
