Upon returning to the United States, she studied acting at the Herbert Berghof Studio and the Wynn Hanmann Studio. She made her television acting debut in 1981 on The Dukes of Hazzard, subsequently appearing in the television movie Twirl and securing regular roles on short-lived series such as The Renegades in 1983 and Hawaiian Heat in 1984.
