Born in Santa Cruz, Manila, Geronimo is the third of four siblings born to Delfin Geronimo, a telecommunications lineman, and Divina Tua. She developed an interest in singing at the age of two and received vocal guidance from her father. As a child, she began appearing on television programs such as Penpen de Sarapen, Ang TV, and NEXT at age four, and later performed at World Youth Day in 1995 while also taking on a minor film role in Sarah... Ang Munting Prinsesa.
Her major career breakthrough occurred in March 2003 when she won the television talent competition Star for a Night. Following her victory, she signed a recording contract with Viva Records and released her debut studio album, Popstar: A Dream True, which was supported by singles like "Sa Iyo" and "Forever's Not Enough." To accommodate her career, she transitioned to homeschooling and completed her high school education at Angelicum College in 2007.
Throughout the late 2000s and 2010s, Geronimo steadily expanded her music catalog and matured her artistic style. She made her debut in supporting film roles in 2003 before starring in the romantic comedy A Very Special Love in 2008, along with its sequels You Changed My Life and It Takes a Man and a Woman. She also took the title role in the 2018 film Miss Granny and starred in television series such as Sarah the Teen Princess, Bituing Walang Ningning, and 1DOL. Furthermore, she expanded into reality television as a host on Little Big Star and as a coach for the franchise series The Voice of the Philippines, The Voice Kids, and The Voice Teens.
