Born in Hong Kong on August 2, 1965, Ng is the daughter of actor Kenneth Ng Kam Tsun. She received her education at St. Stephen's Girls' College. With support and encouragement from her parents, she entered the entertainment field at sixteen years old.
Throughout her acting career, Ng established herself through comedy and developed a notable professional relationship with actor and director Stephen Chow. The pair collaborated on several prominent films, including All for the Winner, Magnificent Scoundrels, and Royal Tramp.
In addition to acting, Ng expanded her focus to hosting and broadcasting. During the first half of 2009, she co-hosted the television celebrity interview program Club Sparkle.
