Moon Ga-young

Moon Ga-young (born July 10, 1996) is a South Korean actress and model. She began her career as a child model in 2005 before making her acting debut in the 2006 film Bloody Reunion. She is widely recognized for her roles in television series such as Heartstrings (2011), Exo Next Door (2015), Tempted (2018), Welcome to Waikiki 2 (2019), Find Me in Your Memory (2020), True Beauty (2020–2021), Link: Eat, Love, Kill (2022), The Interest of Love (2022–2023), and My Dearest Nemesis (2025).

Moon was born in Karlsruhe, Baden-Württemberg, Germany, to South Korean parents. In 2005, her family moved back to South Korea when she was in the third grade. She graduated from an all-girls middle school and high school, and she later enrolled as a freshman at Sungkyunkwan University in 2015 to study in the Department of Theater and Film. As a result of growing up in Germany, Moon is fluent in both German and English. She is also trained in ballet and can play the piano and flute.

She was first scouted as a child model in Germany and picked up modeling for a children's fashion catalog upon moving to South Korea. After debuting in Bloody Reunion in 2006, she provided voice work for Black House (2007) and took on minor roles in films such as Shadows in the Palace (2007) and television dramas including Hometown over the Hill (2007), Bitter Sweet Life (2008), and Bad Guy (2010). During middle school, she took a brief hiatus from acting following a significant growth spurt that made her too tall for traditional child roles.

Moon returned to screen acting with a prominent role in the 2011 drama Heartstrings and gained further attention in the 2013 film Killer Toon. She went on to appear in the series Wang's Family (2013) and Who Are You? (2013) before landing her first lead role in the mystery romance drama Mimi (2014). She subsequently starred in the web drama Exo Next Door (2015) and held supporting roles in Don't Dare to Dream (2016) and Live Up to Your Name (2017). In 2017, she took on her first adult role in the drama special Waltzing Alone.

In 2018, Moon starred as the lead in the romance series Tempted, which earned her the Excellence Award for Best Actress in a Monday-Tuesday Drama at the MBC Drama Awards. She established herself as a leading television actress with starring roles in Welcome to Waikiki 2 (2019), Find Me in Your Memory (2020), and the webtoon adaptation True Beauty (2020–2021). She expanded her career with performances in Link: Eat, Love, Kill (2022) and the office drama The Interest of Love (2022–2023).

In February 2024, Moon made her debut as an author with the publication of her prose collection Pata. In her screen career, she was cast in the television series My Dearest Nemesis and starred in the romantic film Once We Were Us, released in December 2025. Outside of acting, she has represented multiple brands as an ambassador, including Dolce & Gabbana and Tumi, and has engaged in philanthropic initiatives supporting medical centers and international relief funds.
