Manuel Garcia-Rulfo

Manuel García-Rulfo Lapuente is a Mexican actor who works in both Mexican and American film and television productions. He is widely recognized for portraying the lead role of attorney Mickey Haller in the American television series The Lincoln Lawyer, which began airing on Netflix in 2022.

García-Rulfo was born in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico, and spent his upbringing on a local ranch where he developed horse-riding skills. He spent time in Vermont to learn English and later enrolled at the Universidad del Valle de Atemajac to study communications. During his university studies, he recognized his passion for cinema and went on to study at the New York Film Academy before returning to Mexico to build his acting career.

His transition into American media included early television work in From Dusk till Dawn: The Series from 2014 to 2015, alongside a role in the 2014 film Cake. His first prominent American feature film appearance came with the project Bless Me, Ultima, in which he played Uncle Pedro.

In 2016, García-Rulfo co-starred as the outlaw Vasquez in the remake of The Magnificent Seven, a role that required him to complete demanding firearms training. The following year, he appeared in Kenneth Branagh's film adaptation of Murder on the Orient Express as Biniamino Marquez, a character adapted from the original novel specifically for him.

García-Rulfo's career expanded further with major film projects, including A Man Called Otto in 2022. He was cast in early 2021 as the protagonist of the Netflix legal drama series The Lincoln Lawyer, taking over the role from Logan Marshall-Green. His recent work also includes a starring performance in the 2025 film Jurassic World Rebirth, which is the seventh entry in the Jurassic Park movie franchise.
