Lee Yoo-mi

Lee Yoo-mi is a South Korean actress who gained widespread recognition for her performances across major streaming and broadcast television productions. She achieved international fame for her portrayal of Ji-yeong, also known as Player 240, in the hit global series Squid Game, and later took on prominent roles in several popular television projects.

Born on July 18, 1994, in Jeonju, South Korea, Lee entered the entertainment industry at a young age. She officially made her acting debut in 2010 when she appeared in the feature-length action thriller film The Yellow Sea. Throughout the early portion of her career, she primarily took on minor roles across various television series and film projects.

Her career trajectory shifted as she signed an exclusive management agreement with Varo Entertainment in September 2020. Shortly thereafter, her performance in the 2021 Netflix hit Squid Game brought her massive international visibility. Following the show's worldwide release, her public social media presence experienced explosive growth, with her Instagram following surging from 40,000 to over 6.5 million users within just a few days.

Lee continued her success on international platforms with a starring role in the 2022 Netflix zombie drama All of Us Are Dead. In 2023, Lee took on the lead role of Gang Nam-soon in the JTBC television series Strong Girl Nam-soon, which was also distributed globally via Netflix. Her character portrayed a young woman possessing hereditary superhuman strength passed through her mother's family line. She followed this project by playing Jo Jae-mi in Mr. Plankton in 2024, and subsequently starred as Jo Hui-su, a former aspiring writer of children's books, in the 2025 Netflix crime thriller series As You Stood By.

Throughout her career, Lee has earned significant critical acclaim. Notably, her role in Squid Game earned her the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series, marking the first time a Korean actress received that specific award. In addition to her professional acting accomplishments, she engaged in charitable giving in July 2022 by donating cosmetic supplies valued at 3 million won to a public organization supporting burn patients.
