That same year, she secured her first leading role in Playful Kiss, a romantic comedy adapted from the manga Itazura na Kiss. Although the series received low domestic ratings, its international popularity significantly raised her profile.
In 2011, Jung took a break from acting to concentrate on her studies at the Korea National University of Arts. She returned in 2012 as part of the ensemble cast of the sitcom Standby and starred in the cable series Can We Get Married?. After joining SM Culture & Contents in 2013, she appeared in the single-episode anthology Came to Me and Became a Star. Her subsequent projects included the 2014 drama Big Man, followed in 2015 by the film Twenty, the horror-romance Alice: Boy from Wonderland, and the disaster-medical drama D-Day.
Jung starred in the 2016 web drama The Sound of Your Heart alongside Lee Kwang-soo, which achieved over 100 million views on Sohu in China. In 2017, she appeared in the family drama My Father is Strange and the body-swap comedy film Daddy You, Daughter Me. Moving to Jellyfish Entertainment, she starred alongside Lee Min-ki in tvN's romantic comedy Because This Is My First Life and contributed the track "Because You Are Beside Me" to its soundtrack.
In 2018, Jung starred in The Smile Has Left Your Eyes, recording the song "Star" with co-star Seo In-guk, and appeared in the film Homme Fatale. She also achieved her goal of becoming a radio host with SBS Power FM's Jung So Min's Young Street. In 2019, she joined Blossom Entertainment, cast in the variety program Little Forest, and concluded her radio hosting role. She subsequently starred in the 2020 medical drama Soul Mechanic as a rising musical performer.
Jung made a cameo appearance in My Roommate Is a Gumiho in 2021 and starred in Monthly Magazine Home. In 2022, she played a skilled assassin in tvN's period fantasy drama Alchemy of Souls alongside Lee Jae-wook, later making a cameo in its second season. She also joined TH Company and starred in the sci-fi film Project Wolf Hunting.
After moving to Ieum Hashtag in 2023, Jung starred opposite Kang Ha-neul in the romantic comedy film Love Reset. In 2024, she starred with Jung Hae-in in the ratings-topping tvN drama Love Next Door. She followed this with the 2025 series Would You Marry Me? on SBS TV, and later signed with Hiin Entertainment in December 2025.
