Jini joined JYP Entertainment as a trainee in 2016 and appeared in the 2019 music video for Nichkhun's solo single "Lucky Charm." In February 2022, she officially debuted as a member of NMIXX under the stage name Jinni with the single album "Ad Mare" and its title track "O.O." Later that year, in December 2022, JYP Entertainment announced her departure from the group and agency due to personal circumstances.
Following her departure, Jini signed with the agency ATOC (formerly UAP) in early 2023. She launched her solo career on October 11, 2023, with the release of her debut extended play, "An Iron Hand in a Velvet Glove." She has since engaged in solo musical releases, webtoon soundtrack appearances, and acting roles.
