About Nmixx
Nmixx is a South Korean girl group formed by SQU4D, an artist management division under the major entertainment agency JYP Entertainment. Based in Seoul, South Korea, the ensemble was introduced as one of the prominent acts of fourth-generation K-pop, officially debuting on February 22, 2022, with the single album Ad Mare. Known for their signature musical concept termed "MIXX POP"—a distinctive style that shifts between contrasting genres within a single track—Nmixx quickly established a recognizable identity within the global music industry. The group originally debuted as a seven-member lineup before transitioning into a six-member collective following early lineup changes.
Formation and Group Lineup
The development of Nmixx began under JYP Entertainment's sub-label SQU4D, led by executive director Lee Ji-young. The pre-debut campaign, initially teased under the project name JYPn in mid-2021, generated public interest through a blind package pre-order promotion and performance videos highlighting the trainees' vocal and dance capabilities. Upon their official launch in February 2022, the original lineup consisted of Lily, Haewon, Sullyoon, Jinni, Bae, Jiwoo, and Kyujin. In December 2022, JYP Entertainment announced that Jinni had departed the group and agency due to personal circumstances, after which Nmixx continued recording and performing as a six-member ensemble.
Each member of Nmixx brings specialized skill sets and performance roles to the collective. Lily (Lily Jin Park), an Australian-Korean singer who first gained public attention on television talent competitions, serves as a main vocalist recognized for her expansive vocal range and power. Haewon (Oh Hae-won), who serves as the group's leader and lead vocalist, provides vocal versatility and distinct hosting presence in promotional programming. Sullyoon (Seol Yoon-a), a lead vocalist and dancer, is frequently highlighted for her visual presence and stable live vocal execution. Bae (Bae Jin-sol) contributes a distinct vocal tone and energetic stage presence, while Jiwoo (Kim Ji-woo) serves as a main dancer and rapper. Kyujin (Jang Kyu-jin), the youngest member of the group, functions as a main dancer, rapper, and vocalist, completing the multifaceted unit.
