Hwang Ye-ji

Hwang Ye-ji, known mononymously as Yeji, is a South Korean singer, dancer, and musical artist born on May 26, 2000, in Seoul, South Korea. She is best known as the leader, lead vocalist, and main dancer of the South Korean girl group ITZY, formed under JYP Entertainment in 2019.

Raised in Jeonju, Hwang developed an early interest in dance and music before joining JYP Entertainment as a trainee in 2016. Before her official group debut, she gained early media exposure through several television appearances. In 2015, she made a brief cameo appearance in the tvN drama series Twenty Again. In 2017, she appeared in the reality show Stray Kids, and in late 2018, she competed on the SBS reality competition series The Fan.

Hwang made her official debut with ITZY on February 12, 2019, with the release of the single album It'z Different, featuring the lead single "Dalla Dalla". The group achieved rapid commercial success in South Korea and internationally, releasing multiple extended plays such as It'z Icy, It'z Me, Not Shy, and Checkmate. As part of ITZY, she has participated in several major international concert tours, headlining venues across North America, Asia, and Europe.

Alongside her collective work with ITZY, Hwang expanded into solo projects. In March 2025, she released her debut solo extended play, Air, marking her official solo recording debut under JYP Entertainment. She continues her career actively as a recording artist, group leader, and performer.
