Catherine Bell

Catherine Lisa Bell is a British-American actress, model, and business owner best known for her prominent roles in television series and films. She gained widespread public recognition for her long-running performance as Lieutenant Colonel Sarah MacKenzie on the military drama series JAG from 1997 to 2005. She is also widely known for portraying Denise Sherwood on Lifetime's Army Wives and playing Cassandra "Cassie" Nightingale in the popular Hallmark Channel franchise The Good Witch.

Bell was born in London to a Scottish father and an Iranian mother and was raised in Southern California. She enrolled at the University of California, Los Angeles, with plans to study biomedical engineering. However, after receiving an offer to model professionally in Japan, she left university during her second year to pursue modeling opportunities abroad. Upon returning to the United States, she transitioned into acting, taking drama classes and securing early guest roles in television and film during the early 1990s.

Following her breakout success on JAG, Bell maintained a continuous presence on television. She starred in Lifetime's Army Wives for seven seasons between 2007 and 2013. Beginning in 2008, she originated the lead role of Cassie Nightingale in a series of Hallmark Channel television films, which spawned the long-running television series The Good Witch from 2015 to 2021. Her feature film appearances include prominent roles in comedy films such as Bruce Almighty and Netflix's The Do-Over.

Beyond acting and modeling, Bell has established herself in the business world. She co-founded Catherine Bell Jewelry, a brand featuring vintage-inspired custom pieces crafted from precious metals, and co-created EVR Beauty, a line centered on natural skincare products. She continues to engage in lifestyle, business, and entertainment ventures while making public appearances and remaining active across her creative projects.
