Raised in a modest family with a taxi driver father and homemaker mother, Bai attended Hongluo Temple Middle School and Beijing Huairuo Hongluosi High School, where he focused on music and sports such as basketball and high jump. He won a middle school high jump championship and attained a Grade 10 piano certification. He later graduated from Capital Normal University's Conservatory of Music with a degree in Recording Arts. After interning at a South Korean firm, he chose to work independently rather than joining a talent agency, founding Beijing Leben Film & Television Culture Media Co. Ltd in 2017.
After studying at the Beijing Film Academy in 2014, Bai made his acting debut in the drama series Back In Time. He gained further notice playing Yu Chuyuan in The Whirlwind Girl and appearing in the 2016 film Yesterday Once More. His major career breakthrough occurred with his role as an intern in Ordinary Glory in 2020, followed by his portrayal of SWAT captain Xing Kelei in the 2021 series You Are My Hero. In 2021, Bai launched the merchandise brand GoodBai alongside designer Shangguan Zhe, later opening the GoodBai Café in Shanghai. GoodBai expanded through international pop-up shops in Paris and Singapore and brand collaborations with companies like Crocs, Levi's, and Lane Crawford. Having started his public career through modeling competitions, Bai frequently appears in major fashion magazines and has represented various domestic and international brands as an ambassador, including Louis Vuitton, Cartier, Gentle Monster, Converse, and Salomon Group.
Bai's musical activity includes soundtrack contributions, live piano performances, and the 2021 solo single No Added Sugar: Zero. He has performed at televised galas and joined the Taiwanese band Mayday as a special guest during a 2025 anniversary concert in Tianjin.
