Andy Grammer

Andrew Charles Grammer, born December 3, 1983, is an American singer, songwriter, and record producer. Of German and English descent, he is best known for hit singles such as "Honey, I'm Good.", "Keep Your Head Up", "Fine by Me", "Fresh Eyes", "Good to Be Alive (Hallelujah)", and "Don't Give Up on Me". His musical style draws inspiration from guitarists, modern bands, and hip-hop vocalists.

Grammer was born in Los Angeles, California, to Kathryn Willoughby and recording artist Robert Crane "Red" Grammer. He grew up in Chester, New York, and graduated from Monroe-Woodbury High School. During his childhood, he learned to play the trumpet, later mastering the guitar and piano, and began writing songs at age 15. At age 20, he left Binghamton University in Vestal, New York, to return to Los Angeles, where he graduated from California State University, Northridge, with a B.A. in music industry studies in 2007.

Grammer began his career busking on the Third Street Promenade in Santa Monica. He was discovered by manager Ben Singer in July 2009 and signed with S-Curve Records in April 2010. Named an "Artist to Watch" by Billboard in January 2011, he released his self-titled debut album on June 14, 2011. The album produced the singles "Keep Your Head Up" and "Fine by Me". The video for "Keep Your Head Up" won MTV's O Music Award for most innovative video in 2011. That year, he opened tours for Plain White T's, Natasha Bedingfield, and Colbie Caillat.

Grammer's second studio album, Magazines or Novels, was released on August 5, 2014. Its single "Honey, I'm Good.", released in November 2014, became his most successful track, peaking at number 9 on the Billboard Hot 100 and receiving triple-platinum certification from the RIAA. The album also produced the gold-certified single "Good to Be Alive (Hallelujah)". In 2015, Grammer competed on season 21 of Dancing with the Stars alongside Allison Holker, finishing in seventh place. He also sang the National Anthem at the 2015 World Series and the 2016 AFC Championship Game.

In July 2016, Grammer released the platinum single "Fresh Eyes". He wrote and performed "A Friend Like You" for Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie in 2017 before releasing his third album, The Good Parts, in December 2017. His fourth album, Naive, was released in July 2019, featuring the single "Don't Give Up on Me" from the Five Feet Apart soundtrack. Grammer signed with Mushroom Music Publishing in March 2022 and released his fifth studio album, Monster, on October 4, 2024.

In 2025, Grammer finished in second place on season 13 of The Masked Singer performing as "Boogie Woogie". Grammer married Aijia Guttman in July 2012, and they have three daughters. Both adhere to the Baháʼí Faith. Grammer's upcoming work includes his Big Stupid Hearts tour launching in July 2026, the single "Best Hearts", the album Big Stupid Heart scheduled for October 2026, and his Greater Than Pt. II: A One Man Show tour beginning in November 2026.
