Zhao Lusi

Zhao Lusi, also known as Rosy Zhao, is a Chinese actress and singer who was born on November 9, 1998. She has gained widespread recognition for her performances across numerous television series and films, including The Romance of Tiger and Rose, Dating in the Kitchen, The Long Ballad, Who Rules the World, Love Like the Galaxy, Hidden Love, The Story of Pearl Girl, and Love's Ambition.

Zhao initially entered the entertainment sector by co-hosting the variety program Mars Intelligence Agency. She made her acting debut in 2017 with a supporting role in the web drama Cinderella Chef and appeared in a minor role in the film City of Rock the same year. In 2018, she gained broader attention for her supporting performance in the historical romance series Untouchable Lovers. Later that year, she took on her first lead role in the time-travel historical drama Oh! My Emperor, a project that boosted her public profile and earned her the Newcomer award at the 3rd Golden Bud–Network Film And Television Festival.

In 2019, Zhao appeared in the romantic feature film Autumn Fairytale, which was based on a South Korean television show. She also starred in the period fantasy drama Prodigy Healer, the historical romance Love Better Than Immortality, and the romantic series I Hear You. The following year, she starred in the xianxia series Love of Thousand Years and headlined the hit historical romance drama The Romance of Tiger and Rose, earning the Best Leading Actress honor at the 2020 Wenrong Awards. Later in 2020, she starred in the romance drama Dating in the Kitchen.

In 2021, Zhao played the second female lead in the historical project The Long Ballad, winning the Asian Star Prize at the Seoul International Drama Awards. She subsequently led the romantic comedy Please Feel at Ease Mr. Ling and the period series A Female Student Arrives at the Imperial College. In 2022, she starred alongside Yang Yang in the wuxia fantasy drama Who Rules The World and co-starred with Wu Lei in the historical romance Love Like the Galaxy, both adapted from novels. She also led the cast of the drama series Gen Z.

Outside of acting, Zhao was named a global brand ambassador for Versace in 2023 and served as an Olympic torchbearer for the 2024 Summer Olympics. In mid-2024, she co-starred as a coffee shop owner named Cherry in the feature film There's a Kiosk by the Clouds, performed her song You R on television, and starred in the drama series The Story of Pearl Girl.

In December 2024, Zhao paused her career for health reasons, revealing a long-term battle with depression since 2019, while friends alleged workplace mistreatment by her management agency. She resumed public appearances at a charity event in January 2025. Following a brief appearance in a Mango TV reality show documenting her recovery, Zhao publicly detailed a legal contract dispute with her agency in August 2025 regarding unauthorized funds withdrawals and debt issues. In October 2025, reports emerged that she was signing with Alibaba's entertainment division Hujin DME to manage her contract termination and facilitate her return to acting, alongside the release of her English tracks Black Veil Bride and Don't Wanna Know.
