Shin Eun-soo

Shin Eun-soo is a South Korean actress born on October 23, 2002. She made her acting debut in the 2016 film Vanishing Time: A Boy Who Returned and went on to gain prominent recognition for her roles in television series such as Bad Papa (2018) and Twinkling Watermelon (2023), as well as the coming-of-age romantic comedy film Love Untangled (2025).

In 2014, Shin joined JYP Entertainment to train as both a singer and an actress. Without any prior acting experience, she auditioned in 2015 for the female lead role in the movie Vanishing Time: A Boy Who Returned, directed by Um Tae-hwa. Selected from a pool of 300 candidates to star alongside actor Gang Dong-won, she underwent two months of preparation and acting training before filming began.

Shin officially debuted on November 16, 2016, with the release of Vanishing Time: A Boy Who Returned. Later that month, she portrayed the teenage version of Jun Ji-hyun's character in the television series The Legend of the Blue Sea. In early 2017, she appeared in Shunji Iwai's short film Chang-ok's Letter as the daughter of Bae Doona and Kim Joo-hyuk, voiced the female lead in the animated movie The Shower, and held a supporting role in the JYP Pictures web series School of Magic.

Her career continued in 2018 with a lead role in the tvN Drama Stage one-act romance drama Anthology. She also reunited with Gang Dong-won in the feature film Illang: The Wolf Brigade and joined the cast of the family melodrama Bad Papa, playing the daughter of actor Jang Hyuk. Over the following two years, Shin took on supporting roles in the film Homme Fatale and the television series SF8 and Do Do Sol Sol La La Sol.

In 2022, Shin made a special appearance in the historical drama Bloody Heart, playing the childhood counterpart of Kang Han-na's character, and appeared in the Netflix drama A Model Family as the daughter Yeonwoo. In 2023, she gained critical praise for her performances as a high school senior in the drama special Like Otters and as a deaf student in the time-travel romance series Twinkling Watermelon. In 2024, she joined the Disney+ fantasy series Light Shop, portraying Joo Hyun Joo.

Shin signed an exclusive contract with Management Soop on March 12, 2025. Later that year, on August 29, she starred as the protagonist Park Se-ri in the Netflix romantic comedy Love Untangled, which became the streaming service's most watched non-English film upon release.

Beyond her acting roles, Shin served as an Honorary Ambassador for the 2nd Japan Film Festival in 2017 and the 20th Bucheon International Animation Festival in 2018. She also secured her first major endorsement in 2017 as the exclusive model for the skincare and cosmetics retailer Skin Food.

Throughout her career, Shin has received several awards and earned Best New Actress nominations from the Baeksang Arts Awards, Chunsa Film Arts Awards, and Grand Bell Awards, including a Baeksang Arts Award nomination for her performance in Love Untangled. In January 2026, it was confirmed that she is in a relationship with actor Yoo Seon-ho.
