Lydia Hearst

Lydia Marie Hearst-Shaw is an American fashion model, actress, socialite, and lifestyle blogger. She is a member of the prominent Hearst family, being the daughter of author and actress Patty Hearst and the great-granddaughter of newspaper publisher and politician William Randolph Hearst. She is widely recognized for her work in international fashion campaigns, magazine covers, and television appearances.

Hearst-Shaw was born on September 19, 1984, to Patty Hearst and Bernard L. Shaw, a former San Francisco police officer. Through her mother's family, she is of Irish and Scots-Irish descent. She attended Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, Connecticut, before leaving in 2003 to pursue a career in fashion modeling.

Her modeling career launched after photographer Steven Meisel discovered her and shot her first magazine cover for Vogue Italia in April 2004. Following her debut, she appeared on international covers for publications such as Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, Elle, Marie Claire, GQ, L'Officiel, and Esquire. Throughout her career, she worked with prominent photographers including Meisel, Patrick Demarchelier, Ellen Von Unwerth, Mario Testino, Peter Lindbergh, and Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin. On the runway and in print, she modeled for major fashion brands and designers including Chanel, Fendi, Catherine Malandrino, Nicole Miller, and Jeremy Scott.

In addition to editorial work, Hearst featured in major advertising campaigns for brands such as Prada, Louis Vuitton, Alexander McQueen, Bottega Veneta, Sephora, L'Oreal Ferria, DKNY, MYLA Lingerie, H&M, NARS Cosmetics, MAC Cosmetics, Miss Me Jeans, and Moschino Cheap & Chic. Following her appearance in Puma's French 77 campaign in 2007, the company engaged her to design a line of handbags for their collection. Later, in the spring of 2012, Swarovski named her as an ambassador for its Heart Truth campaign, an initiative sponsored by the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute aimed at raising awareness about women's heart health.

Beyond modeling, Hearst has worked across media platforms. She briefly wrote as a columnist for the New York Post's Sunday feature, Page Six, and maintained a lifestyle and fashion blog. In television, she served as a supermodel coach alongside Naomi Campbell and Anne Vyalitsyna on the second season of Oxygen's modeling competition series, The Face, which premiered in March 2014. Her acting and screen credits include a role in the 2015 Lifetime comedy film Stealing Chanel alongside Carol Alt, John Rothman, and Anna Maria Cianciulli, as well as appearances in music videos for Miles Fisher, Cisco Adler, and Johnny Polygon.

Hearst married Chris Hardwick on August 20, 2016, in Pasadena, California. The couple welcomed a daughter in January 2022 and currently resides in Los Feliz, Los Angeles.
