Catherine Malandrino

Catherine Malandrino is a French fashion designer. She is best known for her work in fashion design, residing between New York City and Paris.

Malandrino was born in Grenoble, located in the French Alps, to Italian parents. She received her education at ESMOD before beginning her professional career.

After attending ESMOD, she started her professional work in Paris. She later relocated from Paris to New York, where she met with designer Diane von Fürstenberg. Von Fürstenberg subsequently offered her the position of senior designer and creative director of the re-launched house.

Throughout her career, Malandrino has created several notable projects and collections. In 2001, she designed the "Flag Collection," which featured ultra-feminine, jagged flag dresses inspired by the American flag. She also expanded her design work through major brand collaborations, designing a collection for Lacoste in 2011 and a collection for Kohl's in 2013.

In addition to her design work, Malandrino has authored a book. She published the book titled Une Femme Française in 2017.
