Jung Eun-chae

Jung Eun-chae, born Jung Sol-mi on November 24, 1986, is a South Korean actress, television host, and model. She initially entered the entertainment industry through commercial modeling before making her transition into acting. She adopted a stage name to distinguish herself from veteran actress Park Sol-mi. Her career reached a major turning point following her acclaimed lead performance in director Hong Sang-soo's feature film Nobody's Daughter Haewon.

At the age of fifteen, Jung relocated to London and spent eight years living in the United Kingdom. During her time abroad, she developed an interest in art and design, leading her to study Textile Design at Central Saint Martins College. She ultimately decided to leave the institution before completing her degree to return to South Korea and pursue an acting career. Her entry into entertainment was also encouraged by her older brother, who was employed at the production company Chorokbaem Media.

Jung began her professional career as a commercial model, receiving the CF Model of the Year award at the 6th Asia Model Festival Awards in 2011. That same year, she made her television drama debut in the KBS1 daily series My Bittersweet Life. Her film debut arrived after she successfully auditioned for a role in the supernatural thriller Haunters.

Jung achieved her acting breakthrough with her performance in the 2013 art film Nobody's Daughter Haewon, which premiered at the 63rd Berlin International Film Festival and earned her several awards and nominations. Throughout her cinematic career, she has balanced appearances in major commercial blockbusters—including The Fatal Encounter, The King, and The Great Battle—with roles in independent artistic films such as Hill of Freedom and The Table.

After acting in the 2014 psychological thriller series Dr. Frost, Jung returned to television dramas in 2018 through the SBS legal crime hit Return and OCN's exorcism procedural The Guest. In 2020, she joined the main cast of the SBS series The King: Eternal Monarch, where her performance earned her recognition as the top character in a poll conducted by Cleo Singapore.

In August 2022, Jung renewed her contract with the agency KeyEast, but later departed in 2023 to establish a personal management agency, Project Hosoo, alongside her long-time manager. Marking her return to television after four years, she appeared as a prosecutor in the 2024 ENA legal crime drama Your Honor and was cast as Moon Ok-gyeong in Jeongnyeon: The Star Is Born, replacing Kim Hieora. In 2026, she starred alongside Lee Na-young and Lee Chung-ah in ENA's mystery legal thriller Honour, an adaptation of the Swedish series Heder centered on three lawyer friends dealing with a resurfaced twenty-year-old secret.

In March 2024, public reports confirmed that Jung is in a relationship with artist and product designer Kim Chung-jae. Both born in 1986, the couple had reportedly been dating since 2023.
