Enrique Gil

Enrique Mari Bacay Gil V is a Filipino actor and dancer born on March 30, 1992, in Cebu City, Philippines. He initially gained prominence through his roles in various television series and feature films, establishing himself as a prominent performer in the country's entertainment industry. He is particularly recognized for his leading performance as Alexander "Xander" Grande III in the television series Forevermore, alongside his frequent screen partner Liza Soberano. Over the course of his career, he has earned multiple accolades, including a FAMAS nomination, a Gawad PASADO Best Actor award, and six Box Office Entertainment Awards.

Raised by parents who worked as flight crew members for Philippine Airlines, Gil grew up alongside an older brother and a younger sister. He completed his elementary education in 2004 and his secondary schooling in 2008. Although he initially enrolled at San Beda College Alabang to pursue a degree in Information Technology, he chose to pause his studies to concentrate on his acting career. In 2016, he continued his education by enrolling in a business management program at Southville International School.

Gil began his acting career in 2008 after attending summer workshops to overcome shyness, leading to his enrollment with Star Magic. After appearing in television commercials, he made early television appearances on Pieta and I Love Betty La Fea. During the start of his career, he performed in independent films like Pitas and Diego and His Brothers, joined the dance group Gigger Boys on the variety show ASAP XV, and hosted the teen program Shoutout!. He secured his first television lead role in the 2011 remake of Mula Sa Puso and subsequently appeared in the drama Budoy and the film Way Back Home.

Between 2012 and 2015, Gil expanded his television and film profile with roles in Princess and I, Muling Buksan ang Puso, and the romantic drama She's the One, which marked a major breakthrough in his feature film career. He also demonstrated his dancing abilities, releasing the gold-certified dance album King of the Gil and staging a headlining concert at the Smart Araneta Coliseum. Following his successful pairing with Soberano in Forevermore, the duo starred in romantic box-office hits such as Just the Way You Are and Everyday I Love You, culminating in Gil receiving a star on the Philippine Walk of Fame in late 2015.

Gil continued his television and cinematic work through leading roles in the series Dolce Amore, the fantasy drama Bagani, and Make It With You, alongside films such as Dukot, My Ex and Whys, Seven Sundays, and Alone/Together. Outside of performance, he engaged in philanthropic work, supporting animal welfare campaigns, contributing to disaster relief efforts following Super Typhoon Yolanda, and holding fundraisers for children's rights organizations. His business ventures include a fragrance line, a real estate firm called Gil Side Homes, and a digital ticketing investment with Ticket2Me.

In 2023, Gil renewed his commitment to entertainment by signing an exclusive contract with ABS-CBN. The following year, he expanded into film production by co-producing and starring in the feature films I Am Not Big Bird and Strange Frequencies: Taiwan Killer Hospital. As the chief executive officer of his production company, Slingshot Studios, he continues to develop media projects, including securing a multi-film contract with MQuest Ventures in 2025.
