Clara Lago

Clara Lago Grau is a Spanish actress born on 6 March 1990 in Torrelodones, Community of Madrid. She is an actor known for her work across feature films, television projects, stage plays, and voice dubbing, having built a career in both Spanish and international media.

Lago made her feature film debut in 2000 in the movie Miserable Life, providing the voice for the character Bea. Around the same time, she expanded her screen background by joining the cast of the television series Compañeros.

In 2002, Lago starred in the film Carol's Journey, directed by Imanol Uribe. Her performance in the movie earned her a nomination for a Goya Award for Best New Actress. A few years later, she received additional industry recognition when she won the award for Best New Talent in Spanish Cinema, presented by L'Oreal at the 56th San Sebastian Film Festival in 2008.

Lago's career advanced throughout the 2010s with several notable screen roles and honors. In 2011, she received the Shooting Stars Award from the ICAA for the European Film Academy and the Berlin International Film Festival for her work in the film The Hidden Face. In November 2012, she portrayed the character Eva in the film Fin, sharing the screen with Maribel Verdú and Daniel Grao.

In 2014, Lago starred in the film Spanish Affair. The release became a major commercial success, breaking Spanish box-office records and becoming the top-grossing Spanish title of all time with over $75 million in sales. That same year, she appeared on stage in the theater production La venus de las pieles, directed by David Serrano de la Peña.

In 2015, Lago acted in the feature film Extinction alongside Matthew Fox and Jeffrey Donovan, an onscreen adaptation of Juan de Dios Garduño's bestselling book Y pese a todo. In 2017, she participated in her first video game dubbing project, providing the voice for Cleopatra in Assassin's Creed: Origins.

In her personal life, Lago is fluent in both Spanish and English. In 2013, she entered a relationship with her Ocho Apellidos co-star Dani Rovira, which officially ended in 2019 after five years. In March 2017, Lago adopted a vegan diet for ethical and environmental reasons, noting that the choice provides her peace of mind, high energy, and perfect health.
