Esther Acebo

Esther Acebo is a Spanish actress, television host, and reporter. She gained international recognition for her prominent role as Mónica Gaztambide, also known as Stockholm, in the television series Money Heist, which originally premiered in 2017.

Acebo was born on January 19, 1983. She pursued her higher education at the University of Castilla–La Mancha, where she studied physical activity and sport sciences.

Her career in media began as the host of the children's television show Kosmi Club. She subsequently expanded her work in broadcasting by serving as a presenter and reporter for Non Stop People, a youth-oriented channel available on the Movistar+ platform.

Acebo transitioned into acting and made her national television debut in the series Ángel o Demonio, broadcast on Telecinco. Her early work in film included a role in Ricardo Dávila's feature Los Encantados, which saw an online release in 2016. That same year, she appeared in Néstor Ruiz Medina's short film Baraka, which achieved distinction as the sole Spanish-language short selected for the Tribeca Film Festival in 2016.

Following her breakthrough role in Money Heist starting in 2017, Acebo continued to take on diverse acting projects. In 2018, she appeared in the feature film Growing Up, directed by Clara Martínez-Lázaro.

In 2019, Acebo starred alongside Mariam Hernández as the character Diana in the Playz miniseries Antes de perder. Her film projects further expanded in 2020 when she participated in the filming of the Spanish horror feature film The Chalk Line, directed by Ignacio Tatay.
