About Beatrice Egli
Beatrice Margerite Egli, born on 21 June 1988, is a Swiss pop and Schlager singer, television broadcast presenter, and moderator. She achieved widespread recognition after winning the tenth season of the German music competition show Deutschland sucht den Superstar on RTL. Following Luca Hänni's victory the previous season, Egli became the second Swiss contestant to win the title. Over the course of her career, she has sold more than two million records across Germany, Switzerland, and Austria.
Egli was born in Lachen, in the canton of Schwyz, into an Austrian-Swiss family of butchers. She began singing at the age of nine and started taking singing lessons and performing at folk festivals at age 14. After training and working briefly as a hairdresser, she lived in Pfäffikon with her family until moving into her own nearby apartment in 2016. In 2007, she collaborated with artist Lys Assia on the album Sag mir wo wohnen die Engel and finished twelfth in the Grand Prix der Volksmusik competition. She later performed on the television program Musikantenstadl in 2009 and attended the acting school Schule für Schauspiel Hamburg in 2011.
In May 2013, Egli won Deutschland sucht den Superstar with 70.25 percent of the viewer votes, securing a recording contract with Universal Music Group and 500,000 euros. Her winning single, Mein Herz, written and produced by Dieter Bohlen, debuted at number one on the official charts in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. Her debut album with Universal, Glücksgefühle, topped the Swiss chart and reached number two in Germany and Austria, selling over 450,000 records. She released her next studio album, Pure Lebensfreude, in November 2013, which also topped the Swiss album chart.
Following Dieter Bohlen's announcement in April 2014 that he would no longer produce her music, Egli recorded Bis hier und viel weiter in Berlin. Released in October 2014, it became another number-one album in Switzerland. Alongside her music career, she expanded into television, running her own show, Die große Show der Träume, on ARD and SRF in 2015 and 2016, and presenting programs for ZDF, MDR, and SRF. She continued releasing studio albums, including Kick im Augenblick in 2016 and Wohlfühlgarantie in 2018. Following a stay in Australia, she released Natürlich in 2019, marking her fifth Swiss number-one album.
In 2020, Egli released the album Mini Schwiiz, mini Heimat, followed by Alles was du braucht in September 2021. The latter became her first album to reach the top spot on the German charts and her sixth number-one album in Switzerland, marking her final release with Universal Music Group. Since 2022, she has hosted Die Beatrice Egli Show.
Egli signed with the record label Ariola in 2023, releasing the album Balance, which reached number one in both Germany and Switzerland. The album included a duet with Florian Silbereisen titled Das wissen nur wir. In 2025, she performed a revised German and English version of Cheri Cheri Lady alongside Thomas Anders on her television show and released her studio album Hör nie auf damit.
