Wheein

Jung Whee-in, known professionally as Whee In or Wheein, is a South Korean singer born on April 17, 1995, in Jeonju, Jeollabuk-do, South Korea. Raised as an only child with her grandmother, her given name was inspired by a character in the manhwa For the Mermaid Princess and is written in Hanja as "輝人," meaning a "shining person." She graduated from Wonkwang Information Arts High School.

Whee In rose to prominence after officially debuting in June 2014 as a vocalist for the South Korean girl group Mamamoo with their single "Mr. Ambiguous" and EP Hello. Earlier that year, she appeared in the R&B collaboration "Don't Be Happy" alongside Solar and Bumkey. Between 2014 and 2020, she featured on tracks by numerous artists, including Standing Egg, CNBLUE, Monsta X, DinDin, and Park Bom. In 2017, her collaboration "Anymore" with Jung Key topped the Gaon Charts.

She made her solo debut on April 17, 2018, releasing the digital single "Easy" featuring Sik-K from her single album Magnolia, which peaked at number three in South Korea. In September 2019, she released her second single album, Soar, featuring the track "Good Bye." The single album reached number four on the Gaon Album Chart, while the single charted on the Billboard World Digital Song Sales chart. She also contributed soundtracks for television dramas, including Hospital Playlist and Record of Youth.

In April 2021, Whee In released her debut EP, Redd, which reached the top ten on the Gaon Album Chart. Later that year, she left agency RBW while agreeing to continue promoting with Mamamoo, and subsequently signed with Ravi's label, The L1ve. Under The L1ve, she released her second EP, Whee, in January 2022, reaching number four on the Circle Weekly Album Chart. During this period, she recorded soundtracks for productions such as The Red Sleeve, One Ordinary Day, Thirty-Nine, and Work Later, Drink Now 2.

Whee In released her debut studio album, In the Mood, in October 2023, debuting at number ten on the Circle Weekly Album Chart. To support her music, she launched her first solo world tour, 'Whee In The Mood [Beyond]', in early 2024, performing across Asia, Europe, and the United States. After her contract with The L1ve ended in August 2024, she signed an exclusive contract with With Us Entertainment in July 2025 to manage both her solo career and Mamamoo activities, later announcing her Asian fan concert tour, 'OWHEECE'.
