Sharon Duncan-Brewster

Sharon Duncan-Brewster is a British actress born on 8 February 1976. She has established a wide-ranging career across television, film, theatre, and voice performance. She is particularly recognized for portraying Dr. Liet-Kynes in the 2021 feature film Dune, as well as for her long-running portrayal of Crystal Gordon in the prison drama series Bad Girls.

Raised as an only child in East London, Duncan-Brewster developed an early interest in performance. As a child, she began taking drama lessons at the Anna Scher Children’s Theatre, which helped lay the foundation for her professional acting career.

Her early television work included an appearance in the 1998 medical drama series Body Story, where she played Holly Jones, a club singer suffering from influenza. Shortly thereafter, from 1999 to 2002, she achieved prominent television visibility by starring as Crystal Gordon throughout the first four series of the ITV drama Bad Girls. Following her departure from the show, she made guest appearances on several notable television programmes, including Holby City, Waking the Dead, Babyfather, and the soap opera Doctors.

In 2009, Duncan-Brewster joined the cast of the BBC soap opera EastEnders, portraying Trina Johnson, the estranged wife of Lucas Johnson, from February through September. Later that same year, she played Maggie Cain in "The Waters of Mars," a high-profile autumn special of the science fiction series Doctor Who.

Duncan-Brewster expanded her television resume in 2011 by appearing as a cast member across all four episodes of the drama series Top Boy. Alongside her television roles, she originated the stage character identified as "C" in the theatrical production of Sarah Kane's play Crave.

Over the following years, Duncan-Brewster secured prominent roles in major media franchises. She joined the Star Wars universe as Senator Tynnra Pamlo, first performing the character in the feature film Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. She later reprised the role in vocal form for the animated series Star Wars: The Bad Batch and returned to play the character in the live-action series Andor. In video games, she provided the performance for Catherine Hunter, the mother of protagonist Alex Hunter, in the story mode "The Journey" across FIFA 17, FIFA 18: The Journey: Hunter Returns, and FIFA 19: The Journey: Champions.

Her recent work includes portraying Kitty in the 2018 BBC One adaptation of The Long Song and playing the Weyland-Yutani scientist Albrecht in the 2019 project Alien: Containment. In 2021, she took on the role of Dr. Liet-Kynes in the feature film adaptation Dune.

Duncan-Brewster subsequently played a female rendition of Professor Moriarty in the 2022 film Enola Holmes 2, a role she returns to in Enola Holmes 3 in 2026. She also portrayed Nogi alongside Angelica Huston in the 2025 project Ballerina.
