Nikki Williams

Nikki Williams is a South African singer-songwriter born on 9 November 1988. She was born and raised in Port Elizabeth, South Africa, alongside her family. At the age of 16, Williams moved to the United States with her mother, Mandy Morgan, and her younger sister, Jade Williams, while her two older sisters remained in South Africa. After living in Los Angeles for seven months, the family relocated to Nashville, Tennessee. Williams later returned to Los Angeles, where she met Breyon Prescott and signed a contract with his label, Chameleon Entertainment/Island Def Jam.

Throughout her career, Williams has established herself as a songwriter for several prominent artists. Her songwriting credits include Lauren Alaina's "Like My Mother Does," Demi Lovato's platinum-selling single "Heart Attack," and Laura Pausini's "Le Due Finestre," which was released as a single from the Latin Grammy-nominated album Fatti Sentire. Additional songwriting work includes co-writing "Fly Again" from the Country Strong soundtrack, Nash Overstreet's "You Don't Get 2 Do That," "Brand New Man," and "Magnetic," as well as L2M's "Girlz" and Ronnie Milsap's "Make Up" featuring Mandy Barnett.

Williams launched her solo recording career on 19 November 2012 with her debut single, "Kill, Fuck, Marry," which was produced by Stargate and co-written by Sia. Shortly after, on 4 December 2012, she released her second single, "Glowing." The track was co-written by Williams alongside Arnthor Birgisson, Daniel James, Leah Haywood, Bebe Rexha, and Sandy Vee, who also produced the song.

Her single "Glowing" achieved notable commercial performance on the Billboard charts. It debuted at No. 48 on the Billboard Hot Dance Club Songs chart and eventually peaked at No. 3. The song also reached No. 21 on the Billboard Pop Songs chart and climbed to No. 1 on the Billboard Bubbling Under Hot 100 chart. In May 2013, Williams was selected as Elvis Duran's Artist of the Month, leading to a appearance on NBC's Today show hosted by Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb, where she performed "Glowing" live.

On 15 November 2013, Williams released her third single, "Thank God It's Friday," accompanied by a lyric video published on her YouTube Vevo channel the same day. Following a period of musical inactivity, she teamed up with DJ and producer Parov Stelar to release the single "Trouble" on 16 November 2018, marking her first single release in five years. Williams is signed to Big Yellow Dog Publishing and Atlantic Records.

In her personal life, Williams married Weston Cage, the son of actor Nicolas Cage, on 24 April 2011 in New Orleans. Cage filed for divorce in October 2011, and the marriage officially ended when the divorce was finalized in June 2012.
