Myles Smith

Myles Michael Smith-Thompson, born on 3 June 1998, is a British singer best known for his 2024 singles "Stargazing" and "Nice to Meet You". He released his debut studio album, My Mess, My Heart, My Life., in June 2026 following a series of successful EP releases.

Smith was born to a British Jamaican family in Luton and raised in an ethnically diverse community. Growing up, he listened to a wide range of music, including hip-hop, pop-punk, and singer-songwriters, while also being influenced by Luton's local music scene, family pubs, and Irish music. He taught himself to play guitar and piano, and by the age of 12, he was performing covers of songwriters such as Ed Sheeran, Marcus Mumford, and Chris Martin at local open-mic nights and parties. Smith later studied sociology at the University of Nottingham, graduating in 2019.

Smith began sharing music on TikTok, where a clip posted in the autumn of 2022 caught the attention of attorney and Extended Play Music Group CEO Eric Parker, who became his manager. He gained significant online attention through song covers, including Amber Run's "I Found". In late 2023, he released the singles "My Home" and "Solo", which led to a record deal with Sony Music. Smith then released his debut EP, You Promised a Lifetime, in March 2024.

In May 2024, Smith released the single "Stargazing", co-written with Jesse Fink and producer Peter Fenn. Inspired by the idea of lifelong love and containing themes of self-discovery and introspection, the single reached No. 1 on the Billboard Alternative Airplay chart in September 2024 and surpassed one billion streams on Spotify by September 2026. In May 2024, Smith also delivered his first festival performance on the BBC Music Introducing Stage at the Radio 1 Big Weekend in Luton, supported by BBC Three Counties Radio. He won the BBC Introducing Artist of the Year award for 2024 and performed on the festival's main stage the following year.

Smith received three nominations at the 2025 BRIT Awards, winning the BRIT Rising Star Award in March 2025. His single "Nice to Meet You" topped the Billboard Alternative Airplay chart in July 2025. That same year, he supported Ed Sheeran on his European tour and performed the halftime show for the NFL International Series game at Croke Park in Dublin.

In February 2026, Smith released the single "Drive Safe" featuring Niall Horan. His debut studio album, My Mess, My Heart, My Life., arrived on 19 June 2026, incorporating earlier tracks alongside "Gold" from his EP A Minute, a Moment.... The album received largely mixed reviews from music critics, including a two-star review from Alexis Petridis in The Guardian. To support the release, Smith announced an arena tour set to begin in November 2026, featuring Josie Edwards and Chance Peña as supporting acts.
