Mirai Moriyama

Mirai Moriyama is a Japanese performer known for his work as both an actor and a dancer. Born on August 20, 1984, he established a background in multiple performance arts before building a career across theater, television, and film.

Moriyama began his formal dance instruction at five years old. Throughout his early training, he studied various styles, including ballet, tap, jazz, and hip-hop. This foundation enabled him to participate in a variety of stage productions during his youth.

He made his official theatrical debut in the 1999 production Boys Time. His work in theater continued over the following decade, leading to a prominent role in 2008 when he starred as the lead character in a Japanese adaptation of the musical Rent.

Alongside his stage work, Moriyama gained recognition in cinema. In the 2004 feature film Socrates in Love, he portrayed a high school student navigating the illness of his partner. He later joined the cast of the film 20th Century Boys, in which he played the character Kakuta.

Moriyama expanded his filmography with a lead role in Kueki Ressha. His career also includes performances in notable television and feature projects, such as Kiyoshi Kurosawa's television drama Penance and Junji Sakamoto's film A Chorus of Angels.

In addition to his acting roles, Moriyama has participated in major international events. In July 2021, he took part in the opening ceremony of the Tokyo Olympic Games, where he delivered a live dance performance.
