During his school days, Lee developed an interest in acting on stage. He later attended Dong Seoul University, studying in the Department of Visual Design. Early in his development, he was scouted and cast by the entertainment agency JYP Entertainment. Following his debut, Lee built his career through minor parts in several television series. His early television credits include appearances in Rookie Historian Goo Hae-ryung in 2019, Run On in 2020, and Nevertheless in 2021.

In 2023, Lee achieved widespread recognition through his lead role in the Disney+ original series Moving. He starred in the project as part of an ensemble cast that included Ryu Seung-ryong, Han Hyo-joo, Zo In-sung, Cha Tae-hyun, Ryoo Seung-bum, Kim Sung-kyun, Go Youn-jung, and Kim Do-hoon. The series gained international attention and served as Lee's major career breakthrough.
