Jeon Yu-na

Jeon Yu-na is a South Korean child actress born on July 18, 2011, in Seoul, South Korea. She achieved global prominence through her performance as the young Sunja in the 2022 Apple TV+ drama series Pachinko. She further established her career by starring as Choi Ro-hee in the 2023 ENA series The Kidnapping Day.

Her path into acting began at the age of five while attending a local music academy, where her mother identified her performing potential. Before securing major international roles, she appeared in minor and guest parts across various South Korean feature films and television productions, including the movie Juror 8 and the television series Hellbound.

Jeon gained widespread international acclaim at age ten while filming Pachinko. To prepare for the role of young Sunja, she studied the historical context of the Japanese colonial period in Korea. She portrayed her character as a curious, observant, and mature young girl, earning positive attention for her engaging performance.

Following her work on Pachinko, Jeon appeared in television projects such as Green Mother's Club and Secret of the Lightning Cloak. She subsequently joined Saram Entertainment under an exclusive representation contract. Soon after, she auditioned for The Kidnapping Day, securing the role of Choi Ro-hee after enduring five competitive audition rounds against roughly 500 candidates. Cast members and critics commended her nuanced performance and professional demeanor, highlighting her strong dynamic with co-star Yoon Kye-sang.

In addition to her television work, Jeon expanded into stage acting in late 2023. From October 8 to November 19, 2023, she shared the role of Suzu with Seol Ga-eun in the theatrical production Sea Village Diary, an adaptation of the Hirokazu Kore-eda film Our Little Sister.

Jeon's performances have earned her multiple industry accolades. For her performance in The Kidnapping Day, she won the Best Child Actress award at the 2023 APAN Star Awards and the Best New Actress title in the television category at the 2024 Baeksang Arts Awards. Her continued television work includes portraying the daughter of Jang Na-ra's character in Good Partner, a role that earned her the Best Young Actress award at the 2024 SBS Drama Awards.
