Blanca Suarez

Blanca Martínez Suárez is a Spanish actress who gained widespread recognition for her performances in television series and feature films. She is best known for her prominent roles in television productions such as The Boarding School, The Boat, Cable Girls, and Breathless, as well as her work in films directed by Pedro Almodóvar and Álex de la Iglesia.

Born in Madrid on October 21, 1988, Suárez is the youngest daughter of a municipal architect and a banker, and she has a brother who is eleven years older. She began studying acting at the Tritón School of Performing Arts in 1996 at eight years old, attending for thirteen years until 2009. She later enrolled at King Juan Carlos University in Madrid to study Audiovisual Communication, though she eventually left her studies to concentrate on her acting career.

Suárez made her screen acting debut in 2007 as Julia Medina in the drama series The Boarding School, a role she played until the show concluded in 2010. During this time, she made her feature film debut in Shiver (2008) and appeared in films including Cowards (2008), Brain Drain (2009), The Consul of Sodom (2009), and short films such as Universes and Hemisphere. She also landed her first starring film role in Neon Flesh, which premiered in 2011.

In 2011, Suárez starred alongside Antonio Banderas and Elena Anaya in Pedro Almodóvar's film The Skin I Live In. That same year, she began starring in the television series The Boat, which ran until 2013. She continued building her filmography with roles in Winning Streak and Orange Honey in 2012, followed by Almodóvar's ensemble comedy I'm So Excited! in 2013. Her subsequent television projects included Cuéntame un cuento, Los nuestros, and Carlos, Rey Emperador, while her film appearances expanded to include Off Course (2015), My Big Night (2015), and The Bar (2017).

Her career continued with main television roles in Cable Girls (2017–20) and the 2024 Netflix hospital drama series Breathless. Her later film work includes Despite Everything (2019), The Summer We Lived (2020), Four's a Crowd (2022), and Me he hecho viral (2023). Outside of acting, she modeled for the lingerie brand Intimissimi in 2013, began writing a blog for Vogue España in 2014, and appeared in music videos for Ladrones and Dani Martín.

Over the course of her career, Suárez has received several accolades. She earned a Goya Award nomination for Best New Actress for The Skin I Live In, as well as a Feroz Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress for My Big Night. Her television work earned her Fotogramas de Plata Awards for both The Boarding School and The Boat, an Ondas Award for The Boat, a Golden Nymph nomination at the Monte-Carlo Television Festival, and a TP de Oro Award nomination. She was also awarded the Trophée Chopard for Female Revelation of the Year at the 2013 Cannes Film Festival.
