Ant McPartlin

Anthony David McPartlin OBE is a highly acclaimed English television presenter, producer, actor, and former musician. Born on November 18, 1975, in Newcastle upon Tyne, England, he rose to prominence as one half of the iconic British presenting double act Ant & Dec alongside his longtime colleague and friend Declan Donnelly. Together, the pair have become one of the most recognized and celebrated hosting duos in television history, anchoring several of the United Kingdom's most popular prime-time entertainment broadcasts for over three decades.

Early Career and Breakout

McPartlin began his acting career in 1987 with an appearance on the BBC children's television show Why Don't You? His major career breakthrough occurred in 1989 when he was cast as PJ (Peter Jenkins) in the CBBC teen drama series Byker Grove. It was on the set of Byker Grove that he met Declan Donnelly, forming a lasting personal and professional partnership. Following their departure from the drama, the duo established a pop music career under the name PJ & Duncan, releasing popular tracks including the hit single Let's Get Ready to Rhumble. The duo subsequently transitioned into full-time television presenting, gaining widespread acclaim for hosting the hit Saturday morning children's show SMTV Live alongside Cat Deeley, as well as the music chart series CD:UK.

Prime-Time Success and Recognitions

Building on their early success, McPartlin and Donnelly moved into prime-time television, establishing a dominant presence on British networks. They became household names while hosting major ITV series including Pop Idol, I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!, Britain's Got Talent, and Ant & Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway. Beyond traditional broadcasting, McPartlin co-founded the production company Mitre Studios and launched digital initiatives such as the Belta Box media channel. In his personal life, McPartlin was married to makeup artist Lisa Armstrong from 2006 until their divorce in 2018. He married Anne-Marie Corbett in August 2021, and the couple welcomed their first child together, a son named Wilder Patrick McPartlin, in May 2024. He currently resides in London, England.
