About Adrienne Bailon

Adrienne Eliza Bailon-Houghton is an American television personality, singer, and actress. Born October 24, 1983, she gained national recognition as a member of the girl groups 3LW and The Cheetah Girls. She served as a co-host of the daytime talk show The Real from 2013 to 2022, becoming the first Latina host of a daytime talk show in the United States and winning a Daytime Emmy Award. She has also worked as an entertainment news co-anchor on E! News.

Bailon was born to a Puerto Rican mother, Nilda Alicea, and an Ecuadorian father, Freddie Bailón, and grew up on the Lower East Side of Manhattan. She attended PS 110-The Monitor in Brooklyn and the High School for Health Professions and Human Services. In October 1999, singer Ricky Martin discovered her while she was performing in a church choir at Madison Square Garden, selecting her to perform as a backup singer on his Livin' la Vida Loca Tour.

Following her performance with Martin, Bailon joined the girl group 3LW alongside Kiely Williams and Naturi Naughton. Signed to Epic Records, the group released their self-titled debut album in November 2000, featuring the successful singles "No More (Baby I'ma Do Right)" and "Playas Gon' Play". After Naughton's departure following their 2002 album A Girl Can Mack, Jessica Benson joined the group, which later signed with So So Def before officially disbanding in 2007.

In 2003, Bailon starred in the Disney Channel Original Movie The Cheetah Girls. The film's success led Disney to form an actual music group with Bailon, Williams, and Sabrina Bryan. The group released albums such as Cheetah-licious Christmas and TCG, and starred in two film sequels, The Cheetah Girls 2 (2006) and The Cheetah Girls: One World (2008), before disbanding in late 2008. Bailon's other acting credits include the films Coach Carter (2005), All You've Got (2006), and I'm in Love with a Church Girl (2013), as well as television appearances in That's So Raven, Raven's Home, and The Suite Life of Zack & Cody.

Bailon signed a solo deal with Columbia Records in 2009, contributing tracks to the Confessions of a Shopaholic soundtrack. She appeared on reality series including Keeping Up with the Kardashians and Empire Girls: Julissa and Adrienne, and hosted several MTV programs. In 2013, she joined the co-hosting panel of The Real, earning a Daytime Emmy Award in 2018. She also hosted Oxygen's competition show Nail'd It! in 2014 and finished in third place as the Flamingo on the second season of The Masked Singer in 2019.

In November 2017, Bailon released her debut solo Christmas album, New Tradiciones, which topped the Latin charts. Her business ventures include the jewelry line XIXI and the vegan handbag line La Voûte. In November 2022, she became a co-anchor for the revived E! News program, a role she held until October 2023. In January 2025, she was cast in the musical adaptation of the film Take The Lead at the Paper Mill Playhouse.
