Young Miko

María Victoria Ramírez de Arellano Cardona, known professionally as Young Miko, is a Puerto Rican rapper, singer, songwriter, and former footballer born on November 8, 1997. She is known for her contributions to Latin trap and reggaeton, incorporating elements of her identity, anime, urban music, and The Powerpuff Girls into her artistic work.

Raised in Añasco, Puerto Rico, Young Miko grew up listening to rock, hip hop, and reggaeton with her family, inspiring her passion for music. She began writing poetry while attending a Catholic school in Mayagüez. As a youth, she played karate, basketball, tennis, and ping pong, competing on a boys' basketball team due to the absence of a girls' league. Between the ages of 13 and 18, she played on the Puerto Rican women's national football team. In high school, she was introverted and struggled to make female friends. She initially majored in drawing at the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras Campus, before transferring to the Interamerican University of Puerto Rico in San Germán to study visual arts after budget cuts affected her program.

Young Miko began rapping over YouTube beats in 2018, releasing her first track "Quiero" on SoundCloud. To fund her studio sessions and living expenses, she worked as a tattoo artist for five years, sharing her work on Instagram. In 2022, she released her debut Latin trap extended play, Trap Kitty. Her record label, The Wave Music Group, subsequently signed a long-term distribution agreement with Capitol Music Group. Her commercial breakthrough occurred in 2023 with "Classy 101," a reggaeton collaboration with Feid that earned her first Billboard Hot 100 entry. That same year, she opened select dates for Karol G's Mañana Será Bonito Tour and featured on Bad Bunny's song "Fina," which peaked at number 14 on the Billboard Hot 100.

In 2024, Young Miko performed at Coachella, delivering sets that included her "Chulo" remix and her Bizarrap session. On April 24, 2024, she released her debut studio album, Att., featuring collaborations with Feid, Jowell & Randy, Villano Antillano, Elena Rose, and Dei V. The album peaked at number 9 on the Billboard Top Latin Albums chart and number 129 on the Billboard 200. She also made her acting debut voicing Tiffany in the animated film Sneaks and embarked on her headlining XOXO Tour.

In 2025, Young Miko performed at Lollapalooza and the Governors Ball Music Festival, collaborated with Katseye on a remix of "Gabriela," and opened for Hit Me Hard and Soft: The Tour. In September 2025, she became the first Puerto Rican ambassador for the Council of Fashion Designers of America. She released her second studio album, Do Not Disturb, on November 7, 2025, featuring Eladio Carrión. In December 2025, she headlined two sold-out nights at the José Miguel Agrelot Coliseum with guest appearances by artists including Bad Gyal, Tokischa, and Rauw Alejandro.

Young Miko performed at the Super Bowl LX halftime show alongside Pedro Pascal and Karol G. In March 2026, she starred in Gap's "Sweats Like This" campaign featuring a remix of her single "WASSUP," becoming the brand's first openly lesbian Latina face. On May 29, 2026, she released the deluxe album Do Not Disturb: Late Checkout featuring Clarent, De La Rose, Rauw Alejandro, and Destin Conrad, alongside her headlining Late Checkout Tour. Openly lesbian, she works closely with her manager Mariana Beatriz López Crespo and principal producer Diego Amaury "Mauro" López Crespo.
