Vick Hope

Victoria Nwayawu Nwosu-Hope (born 25 September 1989) is a British television and radio presenter, journalist, and published author. She is widely known for hosting major broadcast shows, including the BBC Radio 1 drivetime show Going Home with Vick, Katie and Jamie alongside Katie Thistleton and Jamie Laing, as well as her former co-hosting role on Capital FM's Capital Breakfast.

Hope was born and raised in Newcastle upon Tyne by her English father, Nigel Hope, and Nigerian mother, Adeline Nwosu, alongside her three younger brothers. She studied modern languages at Emmanuel College, Cambridge, and speaks French, Spanish, and Portuguese. After teaching herself Spanish and taking night classes to gain admission to Cambridge, she spent her university year abroad in Buenos Aires, Argentina. There, at age 19, she became the youngest journalist employed by The Argentina Independent and was subsequently recruited by MTV to present television shows.

Following her return to the UK, Hope established herself as a television presenter and reporter. She presented youth and music shows for networks such as Disney Channel UK, MTV, Vevo, and Channel 4's 4Music, where she co-hosted Trending Live!. Her broadcasting work expanded to include serving as a digital reporter for The Voice UK, backstage presenting for ITV's The X Factor spin-offs, and co-hosting Sky One's Carnage. She has also presented major event coverage, including the 2018 Isle of Wight Festival, Channel 4's Crufts, and the 2020 BAFTA Film Awards red carpet pre-show.

In factual and news programming, Hope has worked as a news and entertainment reporter for ITN. She presented the Channel 5 documentary The Slenderman Killings and fronted That's Not Me, an investigation into retouching in fashion photography. Her sports broadcasting includes hosting Yahoo Sports Presents Tailgate, Channel 4's World Chase Tag Parkour Championships, and cycling programs. In 2018, Hope competed on the sixteenth series of Strictly Come Dancing. Her later television projects include co-presenting Britain's Best Young Artist, hosting Vick Hope's Breakfast Show and I'm a Celebrity...The Daily Drop, appearing on Countdown's Dictionary Corner, guest co-presenting Pointless, and presenting BBC's Countryfile.

Hope's radio career began with Weekend Breakfast on Capital Xtra, followed by co-hosting Capital Breakfast alongside Roman Kemp and Sonny Jay from 2017 to 2020. She also presented Classic FM's Revision Hour and BBC Radio 1 programs including Life Hacks and Official Chart: First Look. In September 2021, she began co-hosting BBC Radio 1's Going Home, initially alongside Jordan North, who was later succeeded by Thistleton and Laing in March 2024. As an author, she published her debut children's novel, Listen Up: Rule the Airwaves, Rule the School., in 2020, and has written for Marie Claire, Shout magazine, and New Teach.

Hope won the Broadcasting Powerhouse Award at the 2017 Marie Claire Future Shapers Awards, a BBC Award for Factual Entertainment, and TRIC Awards for Capital Breakfast. She served on the judging panel for the 2021 Women's Prize for Fiction and hosted its 2022 podcast series. A human rights activist and Amnesty International ambassador since age 16, she also works with Choose Love and Made By Sport, and volunteers at a refugee project in Hackney, London. In September 2023, Hope married DJ Calvin Harris, with whom she welcomed a son in August 2025.
