Tubbo

Tobias James Smith, known professionally as Tubbo, is a British internet personality, live streamer, and video creator. Born on December 23, 2003, at Chichester General Hospital in West Sussex, he spent his early years in Bognor Regis before eventually relocating to Brighton. He initially encountered the sandbox video game Minecraft on a friend's family computer during its beta phase. Before focusing heavily on broadcasting, he played Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, but ultimately chose to pursue live streaming on Twitch in 2018 for its interactive multiplayer capabilities and creative challenges.

Smith established his main social media accounts under the moniker Tubbo in 2018, primarily publishing gaming videos. His career experienced significant growth in 2020 after he joined the Dream SMP, an exclusive survival multiplayer Minecraft server created by the streamer Dream. On this platform, Smith became a central figure and frequently teamed up with prominent creators, including TommyInnit and Dream. Following his rapid rise in audience size, he expanded his digital presence across multiple gaming platforms and interactive events.

Beyond basic gameplay broadcasts, Smith engaged in various high-profile online events and esports organizations. In early 2021, he competed in the PogChamps 3 chess tournament hosted by Chess.com, advancing to the semifinals of the consolation bracket. In February 2022, he signed with the American esports brand Misfits Gaming as a featured creator, a partnership he maintained until his departure at the end of December 2023. Additionally, Smith established his own Minecraft platform, TubNet, with backing from investors such as Misfits Gaming; the server operated from November 2022 until going on an official hiatus in January 2024. In late 2024, he introduced a fantasy roleplay server named The Realm SMP featuring around 30 participating creators.

Smith is also recognized for hosting extended broadcasting events known as subathons, beginning with Tubbathon 2 in March 2023. He followed this with Tubbathon 3 in March 2024, an event featuring panel discussions, cooking segments, and tabletop roleplaying games that ran continuously for 64 days. Outside of gaming content, he ventured into music by releasing the single Life by the Sea with artist CG5 in August 2021, which reached number 84 on the UK Official Charts.

Throughout his career, Smith has contributed to several high-profile charitable causes. In September 2021, he took part in a Minecraft fundraising event organized by Technoblade that collected over $324,000 for the Sarcoma Foundation of America. He subsequently joined the MCC Pride Minecraft tournament in June 2022 to assist in gathering more than $145,000 for The Trevor Project, and later joined the multi-creator Jingle Jam charity event hosted by Yogscast in December 2024.

Smith's performance and audience growth earned him nominations for Best Minecraft Streamer at the Streamer Awards for the 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2025 ceremony cycles. He maintains a massive global following across video platforms, focusing primarily on creative gaming, custom multiplayer servers, and collaborative online broadcasts.
