TommyInnit

Thomas Michael Simons, professionally known as TommyInnit, is an English digital content creator, comedian, and interviewer born on April 9, 2004. He initially built a prominent online presence through Minecraft gameplay videos and live broadcasts across YouTube and Twitch, notably gaining attention through his involvement in the collaborative Dream SMP server. Across his various digital platforms, his channels have accumulated tens of millions of subscribers and billions of views, establishing him as one of the most-followed Minecraft creators on Twitch.

Simons was raised in the Mapperley area of Nottingham, England. His father, Iain Simons, previously operated an amusement arcade and established the GameCity festival before working alongside Thomas, while his mother, Sarah Simons, is a former actress who works as a teacher for individuals with disabilities. Simons attended The Carlton Academy in Carlton, Nottinghamshire, where his official GCSE qualifications were determined by early assessments following exam cancellations during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Simons launched his initial YouTube channel, Channelnutpig, in February 2013 before creating his main TommyInnit account in December 2015, releasing his first video on the channel in September 2018. He began regularly streaming gameplay and conversational streams on Twitch in late 2018. His career expanded significantly after joining the Dream SMP in July 2020. A stream covering the server's conclusion in January 2021 achieved a peak of over 650,000 concurrent viewers, becoming one of the highest-viewed broadcasts in Twitch history and earning him two Guinness World Records related to Minecraft live stream viewership and channel followers.

Beyond online video production, Simons transitioned into live comedy and book publishing. He held his first stage special, TommyInnit & Friends, in Brighton in July 2022. Mentored by comedian Daniel Sloss, he pursued open mic performances and stand-up comedy, subsequently mounting multiple stage tours across the United Kingdom, United States, and Australia, including Annoying at First, How to Be a Billionaire, and The Survival Tour. Simons also co-authored a quotation book released in October 2022 to benefit Sarcoma UK following the death of creator Technoblade, and later published a satirical self-help publication, TommyInnit's Guide to Survival, in April 2025.

Simons has participated in various media ventures and broadcasts. In 2023, he co-founded the comedy group channel Sorry, which paused activities in early 2024. He launched the podcast Shut Up I'm Talking alongside Jack Manifold in September 2024, and in April 2026 introduced the interview show 100 Questions with Tom Simons, produced through Sony Pictures Television's digital studio initiative. His television appearances include serving as a guest panelist on Question Time in June 2025 and competing on Celebrity MasterChef in July 2026.

After relocating from Nottingham to Brighton in early 2022, Simons shifted toward personal vlogs in 2025 before returning to competitive Minecraft events in early 2026. He has publicly discussed his experiences with mental health, including clinical depression, anxiety, and an obsessive-compulsive disorder diagnosis.
