About Souheila Yacoub

Souheila Yacoub is a Swiss actress known for her performances across feature films, television, and theatre. Born on 29 June 1992, she has appeared in notable film projects such as Climax (2018), Making Of (2023), Dune: Part Two (2024), and Evil Dead Burn (2026). On television, she is recognized for her roles in productions including the Canal+ miniseries Savages.

Yacoub was born in Geneva to a Tunisian father and a Flemish mother, and she grew up with her sister. As a teenager, she attended La Haute école fédérale de sport de Macolin and competed as a member of the Swiss National Rhythmic Gymnastics Team. She left school at age 16 to focus on her athletic career, representing Switzerland at the 2009 and 2010 World Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships. After the national team failed to qualify for the Olympic Games, she retired from the sport.

In 2020, following abuse allegations surrounding gymnastics coaches detailed in the Magglingen Protocols, Yacoub publicly supported her former teammates' claims, though she did not officially testify. She shared accounts of the coaches' behavior, including restricting athletes' food and drink intake and benching members for gaining a single kilogram. Following her exit from gymnastics, she returned home uncertain of her career path before her sister suggested competing in beauty pageants.

Around the time she entered the pageant circuit, Yacoub enrolled in local acting and dance classes. After winning Miss Suisse Romande in 2012, she received a scholarship for a three-year program at the Cours Florent in Paris. She later continued her dramatic training at the Conservatoire national supérieur d'art dramatique (CNSAD). Her early acting work included a television debut appearing in six episodes of the France 3 soap opera Plus belle la vie.

Upon graduating from the Cours Florent, Yacoub secured her first major stage role playing Wahida in Wajdi Mouawad's play Tous des oiseaux at the Théâtre national de la Colline in Paris. She subsequently made her breakthrough in feature films by starring in Gaspar Noé's 2018 horror film Climax, followed by her screen role in the 2019 Canal+ miniseries Savages.

In 2020, Yacoub appeared in the multilingual international co-production war drama series No Man's Land. That same year, she starred in Philippe Garrel's black-and-white feature film The Salt of Tears, which made its premiere at the 70th Berlin International Film Festival. Her subsequent film credits include The Braves and A Brighter Tomorrow in 2021, Making Of in 2023, Dune: Part Two in 2024, and Evil Dead Burn in 2026. She is also the founder of the theatre company 23h59.
