Selita Ebanks

Selita Ebanks is a Caymanian model recognized for her career in high fashion and her role as a trailblazer for diversity in the fashion industry. She is best known for serving as a Victoria's Secret Angel from 2005 to 2010. Throughout her career, she has represented major brands such as Ralph Lauren and Neiman Marcus, while appearing in prominent publications including Vogue, Glamour, and the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue.

Ebanks was born on February 17, 1983, in George Town, Grand Cayman, to a Jamaican father and a Caymanian mother. She grew up in a large family with seven brothers and participated in extracurricular programs encouraged by her mother. After relocating to the United States, she graduated from Curtis High School in Staten Island. Although accepted to Columbia University and New York University, she chose modeling after being scouted at age 17 by an Elite Model Management agent at Six Flags Great Adventure in 2000.

She made her modeling debut in February 2001 at the fall show for Tuleh and subsequently walked for designers including Betsey Johnson, Catherine Malandrino, Pamella Roland, and Tommy Hilfiger. Ebanks starred in campaigns for Abercrombie & Fitch, Tommy Hilfiger, and DKNY before signing with Victoria's Secret in 2005. After initially modeling for their Ipex Bra line, she made her major debut as an Angel in the 2005 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show alongside Izabel Goulart. In 2007, she wore the $4.5 million "Very Sexy" Holiday Fantasy Bra Set in the brand's catalogue and annual runway show.

Beyond runway work, Ebanks appeared on covers for Maxim, British GQ, and Russian FHM, as well as editorials in Marie Claire, V, Vanidades, and German and Italian Elle. Forbes ranked her as the twelfth highest-paid model of 2008, estimating her earnings at $2.7 million. In television and film, she appeared on South Beach, Celebrity Apprentice, Real Husbands of Hollywood, How I Met Your Mother, and MTV's Champs vs. Stars in 2018. She also starred in Kanye West's 2010 short film Runaway and The-Dream's "Make Up Bag" music video.

Ebanks launched her own line of swimwear, shoes, and accessories, named Sass (Selita's Accessories Shoes and Swimwear), showcasing it on BET's Rip the Runway 2012, which she co-hosted. Her philanthropic work includes founding the Stardom Youth Foundation in 2004 for Cayman Islands youth, forming the Women's Coalition for Empowerment and Opportunity after a 2008 trip to Sierra Leone, and participating in the Cash & Rocket tour in 2013 and 2014 to raise funds for women and children.
